How does it shoot?

it took some getting used to but once I figured it out it shoots ok. The sights aren’t the best but once you know where it will hit it will keep hitting there consistently. Now I just need a holster for it. They have one on the altor site I’m going to order

Many years ago while taking the dog out for a night time walk in a somewhat dodgy neighborhood, I use to have one hand on a S&W Model 38 in a coat pocket, and the other hand on the dog's leash. Any one foolish enough to accost us got their choice of what was behind Door #1 (my .38) or Door #2 (the Dobie with an attitude)!

Oh yeah, Door #3 was both the snubby and the doggy!

Bersa .22 - Good introduction pistol for folks just learning to shoot.

Beretta 950 .25 ACP - My walking in the neighborhood pistol. Carried at my 2 o’clock in the old phone case pictured.

I kinda want both a Bersa Thunder .22, and one of those Beretta 950's.

As far Beretta, I want the complete collection:

21a in .22 LR
950 in .25 ACP
Tomcat in .32 ACP: I have

One thing I will say, thinking on my answer about what is a "pocket pistol." Not an expert here. But, one thing I just recalled is more people back in the day carried a pocket pistol without a pocket holster, if I'm not mistaken. One thing I've noticed is that all of these guns are even more concealable without a holster, including the marginally too large subcompacts (shields) or revolvers.

A holster does add some bulk, thickness, slight lengthening, etc.

So those old school pistols that were considered pocket pistols but were larger than our LCPs/Tomcats, may have been carried without holsters right?

I don't keep photos of my guns handy, and I'm usually at work when I'm on the board, so I'll list them. Hopefully, I'll remember all of them.

Jennings J22.
Phoenix HP22A.
Bauer .25 pistol.
Beretta 21A Bobcat.
Grendel P10.
Taurus PT22.
Taurus PT25 (matte.)
Taurus PT25 (stainless)
Beretta 950B Jetfire
NAA 1.125" .22LR Mini.*
NAA 1860-250 "Sheriff".
Taurus TCP.
Kel-Tec P32.*
Ruger LCP-MAX.*
Seecamp LWS32.

If we're including snub revolvers with barrels under 2.5" in length, then I'll add:

Charter Arms Undercover (1966 manufacture.)
Charter Arms Undercover (stainless, 1985.)
Charter Arms Undercover (1987.)
Charter Arms Undercoverette (1971-ish.)
Smith and Wesson BG38CT ("Bodyguard")

* Guns that are carried regularly, usually as a second (or third.)

The .25 "Baby" Browning used to be considered one of the smallest, if not the smallest, pistols.

How does it compare in size to the 1st gen. LCP?

Anybody have both that could post a comparison picture?

The Baby Browning is considerably smaller than the latest version of the LCP but it is also considerably larger than the Walther Model 9 which is third from the top in message #30.

Here are the Mod 9 and Browning.

Thanks to you both for posting those!

I'm familiar with the Browning, was just curious to how it compared to the LCP, which I'm also familiar with.

Never had the pleasure of handling that model Walther.

I love the Model 9 but do have a bias. I'm very partial to Walther pistols and they make up a large part of my collection. This Walther TPH .25 was made by Ranger for Interarms. Unlike the .22 version of the TPH the .25 is quite rare. It is one of my most carried pistols (OWB). tempImagen1CTC4.png

My "collection" is really more of an accumulation.

Keltec PF-9
Beretta Jetfire in 25acp
Springfiled XDs in 45acp
S&W 642

My EDC is the snub. It's filled with either Speer 135gr Gold Dots or FBI loads.

My most carried gun is the 642. Just found some 135 gr Gold Dots after two years of never seeing once except online for $60 a box. Found it in store for $30 a box of 20 and bought it. I know, I know.

I have some FBI loads, but I've been carrying mainly either wadcutters or the Federal +P Punch. Now that I have the Gold Dots, will probably rotate them in.

Maybe my favorite of the pocket pistols is the Walther Model 4. It's small and light and accurate and single action with a short crisp trigger.

This is a commercial between the wars model made in 1923 and is an 8+1 configuration. Note that the Ejection Port is actually on the Port side.

LCPII .22

Only 2 I currently own. I wouldn't trust the Ruger enough to carry it even as a backup, but I suppose I could use it like a very non-ergonomic rock.
Curious about your mistrust of the Ruger. Have you been having problems with reliability, is it the safety system you don't trust, or something else?

For the record, my 1st gen LCP has been extremely reliable, which is why I ask.
