Post your targets - The 15 yard pistol challenge

yea, my target stand is 45 degrees tilted since I don't have much of a backstop...this way all the bullets hit the ground right behind the target. The 2 bigger holes below the X are 2 holes touching each other.

Huh?

If the target is tilted 45 degrees from the bullet path, which would make the holes elongated, the bullets would still hit that same place behind the target, wouldn't they?

that would be correct if the target would be 5 feet high which it isn't....it's about 2 feet high. anyway, to avoid further confusion I created this highly professional drawing of how I shoot at the target. :D

Wow, it's a competition thread... but I had no idea it would become an ART competition :D

Next thing you know people are going to start doing those .22LR "drawings"

At My range

People at my range sit down and shoot the target and the ceiling!
You art skills would improve their understanding of the problem.

Went to the range today and shot with a Taurus PT58HC.
Hit a little below point of aim... :neener: but the 5 shot group measured about 4", so I'm happy with the result.

I shot targets today. Had an amazing day, shot better than I thought I could, and used my S&W 28 and LWC rounds to make an impressive group....then the rain came and I forgot to take down my targets and they got trashed. CRAP!

If you saw me shoot normally, you'd understand how upset I am. :fire:

642 and 625

I should have a head cold more often.
All grab and shoot one round.
The .45 ACP's are 200 grain LRN, SWC .38's look nicer.

I must confess that at 15 yards I wasn't sure I could even see the target much less hit the thing, but I impressed even myself. I almost never practice much past 7 yards or so, and even then I only have a total of about 600 rounds down the pipe since starting shooting about 2 months or so ago. Kind of hard to count the hits some. I may have missed 1 on each, or maybe just put em in the same hole. Who knows.
This is the best thread yet.....

i want to post my pics from shooting my xdsc today but it seems that every AA battery in the house is dead and i can't use the darn camera!:banghead:

I just printed out 10 of these targets, and we are heading to the range Saturday. Will post results Saturday evening.

Finallt the planets are in aline. i am gonna keep this short, but i will post a more in depth review in the auto loaders forum.

here are pics of my targets, i was shooting my xd sc .40 s&w using, 165gr blazer aluminum case ammo. here are the 15 yd targets i will save the rest for the other thread. all groups were shot form the standing postion with an isocelies (sp)? stance. keep in mind that this is out of a 3" barrel and so on and so on, look i am making excuses already, and the ammo dosen't help any!:)

Yeah, I have to say that on the whole we're seeing some pretty darn nice shooting (especially you sixgun guys). Hrmmm, I may have to make the next one a bit more of a challenge

Printed out some targets, will take them with me when I go to the range this weekend. I just recently started pistol shooting after purchasing an FEG PA63 a couple of months ago, so I'm not sure how good my results will be. It's a nice little pistol, and suprisingly accurate, considering its lightweight aluminum construction. I've mostly been shooting silhouette targets in anticipation of my upcoming CHL class/test, and have put around 750 rounds through it since I got it.

Look for a post from me in a few days!

pt-145

this is usually twice as far as i shoot,i usually shoot at 7 yards, this was a fun challange!15 yards, weaver stance 10 rounds, double action.

How about shooting with your eyes closed?
I'll start.

Just kidding. This was cheating.
My eyes were closed but I was only shooting from 7 yards.:D
