I just priced some 4227 from a local guy...also $26. He really doesn't get into reloading stuff, and had just special ordered it for one of his customers that ended up not taking it. He said it was to cover the Haz-Mat fee

Prices obviously vary by region but most shops around here are selling powder for $16 to $22 per pound container depending on the brand.
Just picked up a pound of PowerPistol and a pound of WW 748 for $17.99 + tax each.

I met a couple that sell powder at the local gunshows for $16 for IMR 4350. They are from Colorado and gave me thier card. They wont be back here in Tucson until April's gunshow and told me to call them in March with an order. They will put it together and bring it down for me. So, for $16 per lb I am gonna put together a huge order and bypass the Hazmat shipping fees for online orders. When I run out I will by local if need be.

I buy from Wiley's Outdoor Sports in Huntsville. A pound of H380 costs me $18.99. One pound of Unique runs $17.99. H4350, Reloader 19, and Blue Dot are a few dollars more,

We have a local membership discount store (Bi-Mart) that frequently holds sales. I pay $15 for a pound of Varget. They don't handle jugs though.

[email protected] is where I buy my powder. They pass through Flagstaff several times a year and just drop it off. Saved shipping and hazardous material handling charges. Think Unique is running $108 for 8 pounds. Try to buy four to six 8 pound cans at a time. You might e-mail them and see if they have what you need.

I just bought 4 jugs from THIS gentleman here...total shipped cost for 16 lbs of AA#9 and 12 lbs of AA#2 was ~ $230 IIRC...that's $8.21 per lb. delivered.

Also bought 2 lbs of AA1680 for $15 per lb. at the last gunshow in Raleigh...seems to work mighty nice in my .357 Max...I'll prolly buy a jug from Bartlett next time.

Locally is a joke. Only 2 places in Raleigh to buy powder that I've found...one charged $98 for a 4 lb jug of VVN340...the other one gouged me for $26 on a lb. of H110. From now on it's online or gunshows for me...

Viht powders are crazy price - always have been. Still have quite a bit but no more I fear - just too much to pay, usually $25 - and the rest.

My local guy is not too bad ... usually approx $18 for Alliant, but when I can I go to CAC ... off R219 on R22 West ... nr Ebensburg PA ... bit of a drive but prices are all but wholesale and so - 4 or 8 lb jugs way to go ... cash permitting!! Last time there my pocket was light over $500!!

It's way too expensive at gun shops here, about $25/lb. One place had better prces and I paid like $58 for 4lbs of 231.

Now I buy from Powder Valley or T&T in 8lb jugs and get a much better price than I can around here.

Just picked up a 4lb jug of Bullseye yesterday for $51.95. The store I buy from sells bulk red& green dot or 700x for $13, a lb, does that for the shotgun shooters. A couple monthes ago I got a 5 lb. jug of Blue Dot for $62.95. From what I read on the web the prices here in Western New York are fairly reasonable. I don't buy anything by the pound so I don't know those prices.

The Club where I belong sells powder. They order evey 3 months But keep a huge stock of Shotgun powder wads etc. When order time get close I tell them what I want for rifle powder. Most powder is around $14-$16 per lb

I'm local, so I don't have to pay a hazmet fee, but they have a promotion where they cover half the fee if you buy 16 lbs, and all of it if you buy 32 lbs.

I've never even considered buying powder at any gunshop other than Shyda's in PA (they're a huge distributor). Around here it runs about $19-22. That's ridiculous,as I can buy loaded ammo cheaper for those of prices. They also sell primers in 100packs at local gunshops. I have no idea who buys those,as everyone I know buys in 1000 or 5000pk's.
I buy my powder online, or at local shows from larger vendors.

I use a guy locally and get any powder he carries for under $12/lb (out the door). I'm trying to convince him to sell me a 35lb keg 'o' 231!

Powder Valley

Look up Powder Valley on the internet. I believe they are in Kansas. Good people to deal with if you use a lot of one powder. I like to order 8 pounds at a time.

If I can find it for $16 lb or less I will buy it if I need it right away. If I plan ahead I will buy from T and T Reloading which someone else already mentioned. The last order I placed with them was in late December and that was for 32 lbs which came to $404 (they picked up the HazMat).
