Remington tried to boost sales of two of their slow moving calibers and did not do them a lot of good. They went from .244 to 6mm Remington to announce they had gone to fast enough rifling for 105 grain spitzers, but the .243 already had the market about sewed up. For a while, they called the .280 Rem the 7mm Express, trying to sell bolt actions instead of the autos it was brought out for. All that did was cause some kaBooms and frustration because a fair number of customers did not know there was a difference between 7mm Express and 7mm Magnum. So they changed back to .280.
"The Centimeter" has already been done and the name copyrighted. It is a shortened 10mm that predates the .40 S&W.
The cartridge is 10mm Norma. No need to mess with it, it is a niche product and nothing will change that.
