I recently acquired a Smith & Wesson, stainless steel, Model 66-4 - 357 Magnum with a 2 1/2" barrel.

From what I understand it is "K" frame. I have found laser sights built into the pistol grip[ for "J" frame S&W.

Does anyone have experiece fitting this handgun with laser sighting of any type ? If so what type and where available?

Also I have the 12th Edition of the Standard Catalog of Firearms and don't seem to be able to find this Model there ? Curious as to why ?

Thanks:

It's as simple as replacing the standard grips with laser grips and sighting it in.Crimson trace is the most popular.I have them on a couple of pistols and like them.

Thanks very much for your response. I went to the website and found the grips with laser. Really good advise on the website. Very thorough, very descriptive. Excellent. I'm taking your valuable advise.

Greatly appreciated.

There are square-butt and round-butt grip frames on S&W K and L frames. They standardized round butts in the mid-1990s, and the snubnose version always had a round butt. Just order that and you should be good to go.

I have Crimson Trace grips on three of my handguns, my "classic" 9mm Hi Power, 637 Airweight and 686+. I would not buy a handgun for which Crimson Trace did not provide a set. They come already sighted in for 50', and are easily adjusted with the tiny Allen wrenches. The biggest problem I have had is losing those tiny Allen wrenches! I solved that by putting masking tape 'flags' around the shank.

I just added a Crimson Trace Laser Grip to my Springfield XD, and I'm really impress with it. Crimson Trace makes a high quality product that looks and feels like it will really hold up well. I will probably buy more from them.

I cut one off at the L-bend and Crazy-Glued it into the end of a 1/4" x 6" dowel rod. Then put a spring slip-on pencil pocket clip on it.

That stays in my range bag and is very easy to find!
Even when it's clipped in my shirt pocket!
