Did they add a butt stock to the Desert Eagle? Would that make it a short barrelled rifle like adding a butt stock to an AR pistol?

In the rerun I just saw, they really did add a buttstock to a Desert Eagle, which I thought was ridiculous, and I think made it an SBR.

If the lady didn't like the Desert Eagle's recoil, she should try a 9mm. They could have just gotten her a new magazine and barrel so she could shoot in the less powerful .44 mag, or handloaded some low powered rounds to shoot.

but then they couldnt show them mauling the aluminum on the mill....to create a lump of scrap they called a stock.

honestly, im no master machinist, but i know that i would be ashamed if i sold something that looked as hack as that to a customer.....especially for the price these people are paying

I agree . Stephanie didn't like the desert eagle's recoil so she tried a 9mm instead and seemed happy.

On a serious note even real fans of the series shouldn't watch it until they "explain"/apologize for that one.

Yeah, I agree on that one. I enjoy the show, but mounting a less-than-lethal force option to your lethal force option is a bad idea. Those who carry both in the field probably already know why, and most other people wouldn't be thinking about trying it.

If you have cops loading buckshot into designated less-than-lethel shotguns, doesn't sound like a good idea at all. In a stress situation they could possibly squeeze the wrong trigger.

The desert eagle stock looked ridiculous and was probably never filed as class II or whatever so I'm sure that woman or her husband is probably going to get busted eventually. The lethal/less-lethal idea is whats going into the KSG. It'll only be a matter of time before some riot police officer accidentally throws some buckshot into a crowd when he thought he was using the magazine loaded with the rubber load. Hopefully it will get banned so the one I'm going to buy will skyrocket in value

Also said something like "it's gotta stay with me for awhile."

People try to nitpick the class III stuff, but it is covered. Sorry the show doesn't brow beat the legal mumbo jumbo into the viewers. If you don't like the show, don't watch it. Seems like the only reason some people watch is so they can come here and complain.

Regarding the Desert Eagle/Beretta switcheroo, Stephanie said on Facebook that she hurt her wrist because of the recoil from the Desert Eagle so they edited the scene. They didn't want to show her getting hurt. They should have showed the footage because the fact she got hurt trying to shoot the 50 cal is exactly why the female customer shouldn't have been using a Desert Eagle for self-defense in the first place, but that lesson wasn't as cool as Kris building a piece of junk butt stock.

That stock wasn't milled on the bridgeport. That was CNC'd. For him not to know how to turn it on to making that is BS. No way to get that finish in those radius' with just bolting the piece to the table. I am a tool maker and can't do it, much less than some monkey who doesn't know climb milling from conventional milling.

I do believe it was already stated, but anyway the shows was not targeted for people who knows about firearms or gunsmiths.

For less than lethal purposes, cops use a different, designated shotgun, it wouldn't be banned because cops thought it would be a good idea to load both and ended up killing someone with "rubber buckshot".

AMEN!!!!

what has killed it for me is the end of one of the most recent episodes, where we had to listen to will lecture kris on how he had to choose between red jacket or stephanie

it has officially turned to super cheesy with that scene IMO

Actually the recent one with the gatling shotgun, the scrapyard owner said he had to have it and Will said he could have it. That is illegal.

527, yeah, that one left me scratching my head. I was referring to the shoulder stocked Desert Eagle SBR. I still don't understand how the FA gatling tri-Saiga abomination could have been legally transfered to anyone without a SOT class III.

I'm sure a lot goes on behind the scenes that the producers feel isn't of interest to most viewers.
However, to someone with out a lot of gun knowledge, it would seem that these things are legal to just give away with no paper work. I'm sure the Brady Bunch thinks that.

You guys don't know that he didn't have a Class III. I assumed he did.
True, he may have. but isn't one of the requirements of having an FFL other than a C&R is having a gun related profession as a source of income? Not being sarcastic, just asking. To me, if I had a business with a class III FFL, I don't know if I'd be managing an auto salvage/ junkyard business on the side. Again, he might, I can't say.

It is illogical to assume that all the legal requirements are not met with any of the transactions that appear to take place on the show. Red Jacket isn't some new fly by night operation and they're not going to risk their business, especially with the increased visibility of the show, by not following the ATF requirements.

The producers aren't always going to show the tedious details of what is involved with complying with the ATF requirements regardless of how much we wish they did. We might like to see the owner's say "Let's get the paperwork started and you can have it in X days when the approvals come back from the ATF." as if it were a mantra chanted every time an NFA item was sold, but someone obviously thinks the warnings in every show about going to jail if you don't follow all the rules on ownership are sufficient.

I simply cant watch it, when I see LE putting a tazer on the front of a shotgun like a flashlight.... I hope that they heard from the folks who make tazers about what a seriously STUPID idea that was, and a liability Lawyer's Wet dream to boot.

The way over priced class three stuff they make is probably paid for with homeland security money paid for by our taxes.

My take on the show is that it is for entertainment purposes with some guns thrown in for good measure. For the most part, I watch it but not too seriously.

The 'relationship' stuff makes me laugh a bit, and the dramatic 'pauses' before shooting!

I do like some of the silenced items like the internally suppressed AK...

Will's attitude kills me... Tyrant and Jesus all wrapped up into one...
