You forgot to mention a 1000 yard AK is impossible. 7.62x39 is fat and slow. 400 yard to 500 yard different is 41 inch drop(45 to 96 inch).

But, some AK Fanboy will probably say shooting 1000 yards is easy and they do it all the time.

Beretta and FN have US factories not sure about SIG.

great show

some of the things they do on the show are amazing however I mainly watch for the guns and I really wish that they would explain more about what they are doing exactly but that would give away the secrets. what bs I would like to be educated on guns and the intricate parts and accessories. Not just how kool it is to blow stuff up with them afterwards. also like future weapons on the military channel.

Would you want his daughter testing your weapon. I caught a piece or it the other night, she aparantlly tests the guns that come and go, and is in charge of "iguess" telling the professionals? what is wrong with them and how to fix them. I thing it's about time for them to go away. the exploding targets they use are for sale on one of the large distibuters sites, like atlantic, or cdnn. Pretty hairy stuff, they say it's harmless until mixed, but these days I am suprised that they are shipping what is a "bomb" thtough the mail. They even say that if you put them in anything other than the plastic container they come in, you basically have an IED. All it needs is a makeshift detonator.

As I said in an earlier thread, gun makers (or gunsmiths) that shoot at the level of 9 year old girls make me suspicious. On each episode (that I've watched) they shoot guns at ridiculously close ranges and make groups the size of garbage can lids.

If they can't shoot guns, why would anyone trust them to build a gun?

I like how he just picked up the phone and had a Krieger barrel the next day for there build. Krieger barrels are like a 6 month wait easy.

on the show... next day. In reality, who knows? Editing is a wonderful thing for perception.

Even if it was the next day, money has a way of making things happen quickly.

The best part of Sons of Guns is that it is an accessible primetime show about a bunch of engineer/mechanic types building cool guns. This exposes more people to the idea that firearms are a cool hobby for sane people, similar to say, cars, rather than guns being tools of criminals and murderers.

I liked how the "HE" rounds blew up the balsa-wood shack complete with black gasoline smoke. Not to mention the car that was clearly remotely detonated, in the slow-mo you couldn't even see the rounds impacting (you can see 40mm rounds in flight with the naked eye). And again, tons of black accelerant smoke. Hollywood BS.

Yeah, I slowed it down to see if I could see the rounds impacting and couldn't. It's only moving 900 fps they said. You should have been able to see it impact.

Not if it's going to be featured on a TV show. You have no idea how many sales are going to be made by that. The wait is probably 12 months now.

Why do you think pro bass fishermen get paid big $$$ to pimp a certain piece of equipment? There are legions of Bubbas out there that will go buy whatever they see on TV.

Helicopter lure. I rest my case. :D

I don't feel an obligation to support anything with which I disagree no matter how tangential it may be to my interests. I support the RKBA. I support their right to operate a firearms modifying business. I support the use of fully automatic weaponry by any competent and responsible individual. I do not support SoG because I think it's a stupid show with stupid premises. It's like any other fake reality show where situations are made up and the characters have to find a solution. Kardashians, Housewives, T.O., etc. All of them have these synthetic dilemma's built into them, no different than SoG. The contractor who needed a remote-controlled turret for suppression, the guy with the boat, the lightweight AR-15, etc. It's a false dilemma and the lemmings get sucked into them. I will not be a lemming.

Top Shot, on the other hand, is a great game show. Little bit of competition, little bit of drama, good helping of skill and ability, and guns. I can support that and I'll watch it as long as it's on. When it's no longer on I'll watch re-runs on NetFlix or Hulu.

Next week they're going to invent a helicopter door mount for an M-60. It will revolutionize the industry and open up a whole new market.

You forgot to mention it will be a game changer! :)

But I still like the show and have some of their products (from before the show existed).
