Grain of salt......
The H&R 870 clones are a nice.
They are also made by a ruthless and oppressive country that would love to see outs dissolve.

They get free use of the Remington name on firearms, part of the deal. And actually the Roundhill Group does not own the Remington brand, Vista Outdoors does along with all the ammunition buisness. For the Roundhill Group to use the Remington brand they will have to come to an agreement with Roundhill or call them ?????? 870.
The 870 is the most successful shotgun (likely single model firearm too)
(For hunting i prefer the Mossberg safety and slide release. For a pistol grip they are not as good) But I totally agree that they will be picked back up.
Looks like Roundhill will begin manufacturing new 870s in March.
On March 1st
I work in manufacturing equipment maintenance. The running joke would be "which March first"
Are you throwing the 700s in your blanket condemnation?
Not like those plastic Mossberg safetys, huh ?Remington has had some serious Quailty issues recently. I wouldn’t touch a 700 manufactured since 2012ish. The last newer 700 I handled was a SPS model a guy bought cheap at Wallyworld and brought me to rebarrel and when I pulled the bolt out first thing you could see was the bolt lugs weren’t cut square. Scary stuff. I still like the older ones though.
I can’t count on fingers and toes the Rem made Marlin 336’s brought to me jammed up with rounds still in them after the first shot.
I’m a Mossberg/Ithaca guy because I do not like the 870’s riveted ejector. I’ve replaced a few of those and that’s not a cheap date.
Ruger bought them. Ruger doesn't offer a pump gun I know about. Sounds like maybe a Ruger 870? Wonder if they will keep the Remington name? Maybe the guns will be even be better quality! I am interested to find out in time
