i bought a box of new remington golden ammo and tried it out yesterday.
the new stuff is more expensive ($10 for 225 rounds), but performs soooo much better than the old stuff.
weapons used were: s&w k22, ruger 10-22, marlin model 60, ithica m-49, ruger bearcat and ruger mkIII.
the only hitch with the ammo was a stovepipe with the first shot out of the marlin. i forgive the old boy as i haven't shot it in over four years. all subsequent rounds cycled and fired perfectly in it and all the other weapons.
no ftfs, no duds, no weak rounds (per chrony readings), no hard ejection from the revolver or single-shot, normal cycling out of the semi-autos.
i think remington has corrected a problem.
