Savage, at this point Savage is as good if not better than remington in the QC Dept. and has a high likelihood of being a more accurate rifle. and you pay less for it.
i've shot both the rem VLS and the Savage 12BVSS and unless you have to hike to your firing point (the BVSS gets HEAVY), it i find the savage to be a better rifle for targets and varmint hunting, mainly b/c the stock provides a more stable and, for me, more comfortable platform to shoot from a bench or prone.
i've owned two savages and was not disappointed with either, my last a 12FV was capable of less than 1/2 MOA(if I can shoot under 1/2" at 100 with a given rifle, it'll do for all but the most perfectionist shooter).
