I was looking around for deals on .45ACP as they appear to be available in limited quantities/brand here locally, and found a deal at Dick's sporting Goods:
$9.48/box o' 50 in case quantity for Remington UMC (green/white box) of .45 ACP FMJ 230gr.

How are they as far as reliability, accuracy, cleanliness, ... compared to other ammo? Do you like it or not?

Gonna pick up a couple of cases to stockpile if favorable feedback :)

Thanx

Not the best .45acp I have ever shot nor is it the worst.
$9.48 a box makes it a bargain when most .45 factory is running $13.00 and up.

I never had a problem with them failing to fire, and they are fairly accurate.

The only negatives I know of are that 1) they are somewhat dirty, and 2) the cases are not the best for multiple reloading.

That's a good price, and I would not hesitate to buy some of it.

Been using that brand in both a 45 and 9mm forever. It is my preferred practice round. Reliable, yes. Accurate as any other rounds I've used. Clean, yes. [Or, let's say it's not mess when compared to other mainstream ammo.] Reasonably priced, yes, comparatively speaking. For me another bonus is that the UMC/Remington round is the same weight as my carry ammo, which means practice and defense rounds "feel" the same.] Never had any feed or ejection problems.

Another ++ for the 230 grain Rem-UMC FMJ ammo. I have used it when
I ran out of my .45 ACP handloads, and have had good results with it
thus far. Like was stated above, "not the cleanest ammo out there;
but also not the filthiest either". And, $9.48@ box is not a terrible
price to pay for some factory practice ammo~!:D

I've shot probably 800-1000 rounds of UMC over the years when I was low on reloads or shooting a new caliber. I don't remember having any issues with any of them.

Decent ammunition at a decent price.

The Remington UMC .45ACP 230gr JHP's are pretty decent too.

UMC works great in my HK. no problem in USP9 or in USP45, one in green/white and in yellow super value pack.

About as good as any "generic" ball ammo . . . other than Wolf. :barf:

One thing I've noticed is that Remington .45 ACP brass is frequently thinner than other brands . . . sometimes to the point that it's difficult to reload, as normal sizing dies won't squeeze it down enough to hold the bullet. (I had some that neither Dillon nor RCBS carbide dies would work on . . . even tried an old RCBS steel sizer. No joy.)
