H'mm I know I posted on this thread, I must have donked it up somehow when I posted ( not the first time)
I don' like leaving the springs in my auto's compressed. Seems like a recipe for failure when I least expect it. I do keep one auto in standby condition but I rotate ammo out of the mag every few weeks, into another.
I have enough revolvers that store better, that this is a none issue. My S&W 58 is always loaded, plus I have a speed loader hot and ready. Considering I am both more accurate and faster with this setup, I just don't see the need to change. Another thought is although I have either a 45 ACP or 38 super in reserve so to speak, if I can't get it done with 12ea 41 mags, I figure I am in deep kaka, and the auto pistol isn't really gone to fix the problem that I need a rifle for.
There is also a Colt dick special that is in very close proximety, that is my backup.
I don't have a need to carry daily any more, but back when I though it was neccesary, a 45 or a 10mm in condition 1 in a shoulder holster is the right setup. But this is setup that needs attention every so often, not really ideal for my current configuration which entails storage and trips to the range.
