Rifle for home defense?

They are not assault rifles. They are semi automatic rifles, or just a rifle. Don't use their language.

This is what I would use:

Or go to http://www.calguns.net/ and build an AR.

Why not just use a pistol for home defense?

AK47 with soft-points or hollow points will make good home defense if you have a ranch to defend.

Are Yugo M70 AK47 variants legal in California? They make good Close-quarter combat/defense rifles because they have collapsible stock... and as long as you don't use FMJ rounds.

I watched the movie "Munich", and the terrorists used them indoors, and as long as the movie was protraying, the FMJ rounds didn't seem to penetrate the walls... but again, that is hollywood for you. I would stick to hollow or soft points.

I still prefer the CA model. Better sights than the A, still has the buttstock magazine clamp thingamabob, and slightly more compact (16" barrel).

Ruger .44 Deerfield Carbine

RUGER .44 MAGNUM Deerfield Carbine :what:

I wish that I could get a ten round mag. RUGER = did you hear me. :banghead:

I team it up w/ a Ruger Super RedHawk in .44 mag for the BEAR, BOAR, Deer and Mountian Rifle/ Pistol combo. Both are scoped. Together w/ ammo it takes up alot of your weight allocation when hiking in. The RedHawk is knicked-named the Ruger Super REDBRICK. I still love it, never to be sold or traded. :)
