Rifle for home protection?

+1 On the Marlin Camp Carbine in 45acp. Good luck finding one. It is the one long gun not in my safe. It leans against the headboard of my bed with a fifteen round mag full of Hornady 200gr +p hollow points.

OUCH!

Shooting +P ammo through a camp carbine is a big no-no. it's pretty much a blowback action and it doesn't take much high pressure rounds to screw it up. BTDT.

Peepsighted 30/30. Easily defended in court, less over penetration, good "weapons presence".

Winchester makes 110 gr hollow points for the 30 carbine. I've shot a LOT of them.
