Website showed ammo in stock. Ordered a bunch of ammo. They sent me a confirmation of the order. A couple of days later they sent me another email saying ammo was shipped and a tracking number. Today I recieved their package. It contained only one single box of ammo - a box that was something entirely different from what I had ordered. Called them. Left on permahold. Called back twice more. Told ammo wasn't really in stock after all. Told that customer service will get back to me.

his first post was blank, as have been other first posts... There is a glitch in the system, over all the board.

_____________

Oh, OK. I was thinking they banned me or something just for posting this.

remain calm. do not be alarmed.

the board has been causing people to double/triple post for a few weeks now.

if you used a credit card, dispute the charges due to them not sending what you bought

Indeed, it should be a high priority ot dispute the charges for a fraudulent purchase.

EDIT: Agreed, AllAmerican. I've always found somewhere cheaper.

Sunday morning I ordered 25 boxes of Federal 357b 125 grain hollow points from Cheaper than Dirt. This evening when I got home from work there was a box sitting on my doorstep. I opened it and it contained 25 boxes of Federal 357b. I have never had a problem with CTD. I perfer ordering from Midway but it seems like the past few months they have been out of ammo I want to order.

So what's the problem? If you ordered it on line, I would assume that you paid for it with a credit card. Call the credit card company and protest the charge.

The prices are Cheaper Than Dirt, the SHIPPING is not.Even Sportsman's Guide is cheaper overall, after shipping, and all is said and done.
Also,I ordered a .45 acp barrel from them, and the lug is slightly canted,so it's basicly useless.I called them up,and they said ''some fitting required'' and left me on my own. That said, they do have some deals, and a few bad experiences do not a bad company make.
They do need to work on returns/exchanges and customer service.

So they screwed up your order. That's a far cry from ripping you off. Now, when they refuse to refund your money, then you can make a legit ripoff accusation.

Screw-ups are going to happen- we're all human. The real mark of a man or a business is how those screw-ups are handled and fixed.

LOL thats funny.

My main problem with CTD right now is the postings that play into the fears.

"We dont have any due to the political uncertainty" kinda stuff.

I dont see that on other sites.

I wont use CTD because they are not.

lol my dad once told me basically the same thing "I stopped using cheaper than dirt because, cheaper than dirt, is not cheaper than dirt."

I guess you're right. Actually I was going to change the title of this to CTD screwed up my order, something like that. But I wasn't too thrilled with the way they treated me on the phone today either, like leaving me on permahold the first time I called - and then they're telling me that they confirmed my order and even emailed with a tracking number saying they shipped it, but it was never even in stock in the first place because it comes from a separate warehouse bla bla bla. If they don't call back and straighten it out tomorrow I'll file a dispute with the credit card company. I don't like the way they besiege my mailbox with their catalogues either. I won't order from them again.

I have found that "cheaperthandirt" is usually "waymoreexpensivethandirt" by a good margin.
How about Expensive As Sh** ....EAS?

I was once totally ignored by their customer service forum stooge when I suggested that they should do something about their outrageous shipping charges.

"This belongs in "Retail Deals and Feedback""

Where's that?

They are kind of like the JC Whitney of the gun world mostly selling cheap imported junk that you don't need and breaks if you try to use it. Their ammo used to be competitive but since the prices started soaring about four years ago they got lost in the bustle. Just shop around you can find it cheaper at WalMart.
