Can anyone give me a general idea of the value of a Stainless Ruger GP100 with a 3 inch barrel in good condition? I grabbed one today at my LGS and put it on layaway but I want to make sure I am not paying to much.

I would be happy at paying $299 OTD for a 3" GP.

I'm willing to bet that you will be able to trade that for a 6" and probably get some money back.

that seems like a good price, especially for a 3". if you don't like the barrel length, i'll bet you could easily find someone to trade up with. the 3" is harder to find, so you might find someone with 4" or 6" that would like to swap.

hell, i'd trade you a 6" S&W 586 if you wanted...

Thanks guys. The gun looked great. In fact the only thing I found is that the original grips seemed a little worn from handling. Action was SMOOTH and condition was really good. The main reason I am not sure if I want the 34 inch is because I just picked up a SP101 with a 3 1/4 inch barrel less than a month ago.

Sounds like I will be able to trade this one out if I decide I want a longer barrel.

How long is your layaway? I ask because I may possibly trade my LCR for a 6" GP100 if you would be interested. Nothing has been finalized yet, but it is a strong possibility, especially if no one offers my cash for the LCR.

Last November my GP-100 6" stainless cost $533 out the door. That's including sales tax and the $8 Wisconsin made me pay to check me a second time since it's a handgun (as if the federal check just isn't enough).

As I recall, the 3" is a bit cheaper due to fixed rear sight.

I want to know how Palu got one for $499? Was that blued or just a great price? Or not including tax?
