i have to admit my s and w 22 victory with target trigger, compensator on the front and loop on the back for easy slide opening is a lazy persons gun. opic sights. you would have to be blind and dumb to miss with this gun. anybody else have one of these? my son has a ruger target and says my victory is hands above his ruger. dont know if its true but have to say, cant think of anything wrong with mine. i used to have a high standard supermatic trophy. shouldnt have sold it. always wanted one back. however the victory took that desire from me, as cant get any better than the victory in my mind. what do you all think?

I bought one when they first came out. Just the plain Jane, no threaded barrel or accessories, but shoots like a dream.
I was telling a friend about it, and told him "It practically shoots itself". He came out and shot it, went to Cabela's and bought one.
They are nice pistols that shoot where you point.

i like your reply. they almost shoot them selves. they are almost boring because they are so easy to shoot and hit.

How does the Victory compare to the S&W 22A? I own a 22A and have looked at the Victory pistols but haven't decided yet to keep the 22A or get the Victory.

Have had a Buckmark, Ruger MkII & MkIV, but like my Victory best of the bunch. It's a plain Jane version, bone stock right now.
Been putting a little money aside to either dress this one up or get one of the PC versions, haven't decided which to do yet.
It's really popular with new shooters when I take someone to the range, so leaning towards getting a PC & dedicating this one too "gateway drug" status.

I recently acquired .22RF Victory. My example has the threaded barrel to accept a suppresser. The trigger press is exceptional, better than other examples of .22RF semiautomatic pistols from different manufactures that I have had experience with.

today i wanted to shoot mine at my spinners and man target but the neighbors cattle herd was behind our house in back of my targets. cant shoot when they are their, dont want to drop one his cows.

I just don't get why the Victory hasn't been swooped up in hoards. It outshoots my heavily modified Ruger MKIV Hunter and is much less expensive. Excellent sights, barrel and trigger OOB. Even the 22Plinkster favored it slightly. What's not to like?

I much prefer my Victory, though the 22A shoots as well with my 7" bbl. I'll keep both, but if I had to choose, it'd be the Victory due to aftermarket support, and it seems to be a bit more ruggedly built to me. Plus the 22A is so damned ugly...o_O
YMMV https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/this-old-gal-s-w-22a-1-got-some-new-shoes.866379/
