If you listen to everything that everyone says.... You wouldn't want to own any pistol because someone out there will think it is garbage.

I picked one up out of curiosity, (plus it was pretty cheap), and played around with it. I ran around 400 rounds through it with no problems. The trigger smooths up some after shooting/dry firing it. Accuracy is decent and is in the same ball park as most other pistols out there that cost $200 to $300 more. My buddy is borrowing it until he can replace his pistol that was stolen out of his vehicle. I think it is a good gun at a great price.

Yes there is always people who will bad mouth a gun and you can take it for what its worth. But you have to pause when a gun has such a bad rap with so many people. Sigmas have a bad reputation for a very valid reason. Reasons that have already been stated.

The early production guns had problems.... no doubt. That was a long time ago. The recent production one that I own has proven to be no less reliable than any of the other guns in the collection.

Jenrick, buy the Sigma and enjoy. I don't think you would go wrong with a Glock, Sig, Beretta, Springfield Armory either. If you are strapped for cash and want to get into shooting it is hard to beat the deal on the Sigma.

The first production runs by S&W had some lemons but they have made engineering and cosmetic changes. They are also owned by different people now and have a new management team that is committed to quality and the average shooter/consumer. Again, that was awhile ago. Almost all guns that hit the market have quirks that are updated after a whole bunch hit the market and the factory gets complaints.

I don't think there is another gun that gets more of a bad rap than Glocks. For a gun that gets such bad raps it seems pretty successful with LEA's and the general public. I enjoy the two Glocks that I own and carry. That is in spite of the fact that I think some folks in their management team deserve to be fired after the way they handled their engineering challenges.
