Help, I need a new scope.
I have a CZ rimfire in .22lr that I use for rabbits, at the moment I have a Nikon ProStaff 4 x 32 rimfire scope.
Great scope, but not enough magnification for my tired old eyes, I am looking at another Nikon scope, I want a 3-9x40 and would also like to jump up the range a little.
I also want a reticule that offers hold over marks, like a milldot.
I am looking at a Nikon Omega 3-9x40 BDC muzzle loader model.
Is there any reason this would not work for me, most of my shots are in the 50 to 100 yard range, a few are a little closer.
The scope has a 100 yard fixed parallax, but I have also heard it is possible to tweak this, if needed.
This is right at the top end of what I can afford, cost will be $250.00 shipped to the UK.
A few places have it a little cheaper, but the shipping kills them, also an E-Bay buy is a plus for me, as it will probably avoid import duty.
Please advise me, the scope could also end up on a .17HMR late this year.

Neil.

I'm a fan of the Weaver 2.5-7x or 3-9x AO Rimfire scopes. I have both and they are very good. They have a duplex crosshair that is very easy to see (easier than the fine Leupold) and both are rimfire scopes. The 3-9x has the AO feature which allows you to set the focus distance such as 25 yds, 50 yds, 100 yds.. whatever. Good for bench shooting. The 2.5-7x is a very handy light rimfire scope adjusted for parallax at 50 yds. Just my 2-cents. I have tried dot reticules and I don't particularly like them. These run around $200 US. In fact I just bought another 3-9x and it arrived today via UPS (my third).

Job Done.

Looked at a Bushnell Trophy 3-9x40 mill-dot over the weekend, nice scope, but the price
I was told 'no discount, no cards, cash only' £190.00 ($370.00)
Went to my favourite gun-shop today, first day back from his holiday shutdown
Same scope, £115.00 ($225.00) with a set of RWS medium rings, fitted and bore sighted)
Just ordered a set of Butler Creek flip up covers for it, pics to come.
Thanks for all the help, but it seems the days of ordering things from the US is nearly at an end for most things, just too expensive by the time shipping and duty is added.

Neil. :)
