Since you enjoyed the movie, yes the series DVD is worth purchasing. Plus you get the whole back story to the movie.

shiny, a new brownshirt

Yes, the Firefly DVD is well forth it: the twelve episodes that
were aired on Fox--IN THEIR ORIGINAL ORDER--plus three
that were never aired on Fox (but were shown when the
complete series played on sci-fi channel.

The Firefly DVD box set is absolutely worth purchasing. I enjoyed it even more than the movie.

The movie was just a quickie. Get the DVD's and savor it the way it was meant to be viewed.

Gotta ageee wirh Duke, the series was better IMO. The movie was a bit faster paced, but lost alot of the subtle humor and banter between characters.

What in the GorRam are you waiting for? You did buy the DVDs right? They are very worth it. I bought the DVD set and my gf and I watch the whole season in 3 nights. It is an awesome series. It took some getting used to the horrible Chinese they speak in the show, but after while it was funny as I tried to understand what they were trying to say. Enjoy fellow Browncoat

I'm pretty sure the purplebellies were the brownshirts in Firefly.

The series is better than the movie. The movie's good -- the series is great! Dong-ma?

"Awww, maan -- an' I was gonna get me a ear!" Where else do you get dialog like that from the good guys?

Dear God in Heaven and all that is good and natural, we are geeks. :neener: :neener:

Amazes me how people get so upset at us gun owners when at our core we are all kids who never grew up enough to buy into the BS society wants us to swallow. We are so simple. Leave us alone, we leave you alone. Protect those you care about and yourself, share your toys, be polite, respect your elders.

The world would be better served if it was made up by a majority of us "kids".

I think the purplebellies were the Alliance.
...Yep. And they were kinda like il Duce's brownshirts. Even had fancy hats for the ossifers! And they were meddlesome.

The Independents were Browncoats. Long, flappy brown coats, they wore. (Y'know, your coat is kind of...brown. You're wunna them innnapennants, ain't'cha?")

...And Blue Sun controls the grocery wholesale biz.

Now, where is it they juggle geese? (Goslings, actually). Shiny!

"Sir, why is it every year on U-Day you just want to find yourself a quiet drink in a bar somewhere?"

"Dear diary, today my sister was crazy and I was pompous. Then we were kidnapped by hillfolk, never to be seen again. It was the best. day. ever."

*muttered Chinese* "Malcolm Reynolds, I've been waiting for you to kiss me since I showed you my guns."

Erik, if you're strapped for cash, you might consider haunting the local used video store or pawn shops to see if anyone's hawked their set. You could probably pick it up pretty cheap that way.

Yes, big difference between browncoats and brownshirts,
though the good guys did wear tan shirts with their brown coats. :)
