Model 70 Win. in .300 Mag, next to the barreled action of the Big Mother Goose. The stock and brake are a week or so out, then the final machine work can be completed.

McMillan action, both rifles wear Lilja barrels. The .50 barrel is 1.950 tapered to 1.550 at 39 inches.

Can't wait to finish her!

Eight Ball.....ya think?

Pretty much like all guns, don't warm up much to the "black guns" though, but as my "handle" states, my inclination is being a hunter.

Even though I probably spend a considerable more time doing range work, load development, and such, my end usage is in the field.

From my perspective, hunting, is not sitting on a rock 1000 yards from my intended game, but spending a day or days HUNTING to be within reasonable distance. For that purpose, lever guns suit me well. Easy to carry, quick to the shoulder, and can carry it's own reserves.

The little one on the left has taken 13 whitetail, one black bear, and one 6 X 6 bull elk up the Bitterroot across the Clark Fork. Took me all night to shimmy down the valley, cross the Clark Fork, and lay in the mud by the bull rushes before that big boy walked within 40 yards of me and I took it with that little .44 Mag Trapper.

You know what they've said about Ruger 10/22s being highly customizable? Yeah. Mine's been through a few rounds of that.

It started as a standard Ruger 10/22 Carbine model. Original barrel and stock were replaced with a Hogue stock and Butler Creek .920" barrel. Even with the stock trigger and a relatively inexpensive (don't remember the exact price) Winchester-brand 40mm scope, I was hitting shotgun shells regularly at 100 yards, 4" plates at 200 yards (after that, the drop became too much), and getting around 0.5-1.0" groups at 50 yards. Not bad.

Just recently, I ordered a Ruger factory stainless barrel that had been threaded by a gunsmith, and mounted my Gem-Tech Outback II silencer on it. Accuracy seems pretty good (dime-to-quarter sized groups at 25 yards, indoors, from a poor firing position, using Remington Subsonic and Remington Golden Bullet ammunition), and with Rem Subsonics it's pretty quiet, and with CCI CB Longs, it's all but silent (sounds like a stapler). I'll take it out to the desert this weekend to see how it handles from stable firing positions, and to compare silenced vs. non-silenced point of aim.

Also note the lava lamp and the fish in the background. They just happen to be near the dining table in my studio apartment. The other guns are all in the safe, I had this picture handy, and I'm way too lazy to go get more pictures.

Hey, mods, can we get this stickyed? It seems like it may have the same potential as the "post your .45ACP pics" down in the handgun section. Please? That way it wouldn't get lost amongst the oodles of threads. Just a thought.
