Two Ruger GSR’s; one in .308, one in 5.56. Both with Leupold VX-2 2-7x33 and XS SIGHTS ghost ring sights. The stock sights are better, but these aren’t bad. Slings are from Magpul.

I have a scout style scope but after trying it, I'm not fan.

I really like the Ruger GSR’s, I have one in 308 and would really like one in 450 bushmaster for a good white tail thumper round. Really enjoy the 450 BM and pairing it to a GSR makes a lot of sense.

There are some good unique loads for the 450 BM with soft 200gr SWC for small game hunting that would make the Ruger a dandy big game rifle while also maintaining the ability to take grouse, rabbits, etc. for pot meat. I can’t do that very well with an AR in 450 BM.

Despite my hard-headed preference for wooden furniture, your M1-A Scout Squad is still one of the coolest rifles ever produced.

Thanks, I carried an M14 in Nam and always wanted one. A few years ago I found this one for sale
at a price to good to pass up and bought it. I like the wood stock but needed a saddle to raise my
cheek up to the 2x7 Leupold scope. A few weeks ago I saw this ProMag Archangel stock in an
add in a gun magazine. Went online and found that the stock for the M1A fits all the derivatives
of the gun so I bought it. I really like it. It adjusts for length of pull as well as cheek height and has
the rails for attachments. Only gained about a pound in weight loss but that's ok, I can still hump
it around. Comes in Black, Desert, OD Green and Camo color. As for making one for a BAR, I
couldn't say.

Blkhrt13,

I have done that with an SKS. Cut the barrel to 16.5. Shortened the front sight (lengthwise), split the ring at the bottom, drove it back onto the barrel and gas welded it in place. Made for a pretty compact little gun. Sorry, no pics.
