Sig Sauer Rep at one of my LGS tomorrow... What would you ask him?

I always ask for free Sig stuff. I generally get cloth patches, decals, hats and once got a metal Sig wall sign, that I put in my shop in my man cave. I am still waiting to score a clock. I'd even buy one if they had any in their supply vehicle.

While all the questions folks posted above are relevant, the reps are techs and not corporate brand managers. They know products and manage supplies, not corporate decisions.

Have they worked out all of the issues with the new P365?

I don't own one, but my impression is no. Some of the early issues which included failures to extract and barrel peening seem to have been rectified by a redesign of the recoil spring assembly. The original pistols shipped with night sights that moved or fell off completely. SIG now installs their X Ray sights on the P365s which seems to have taken care of that particular issue.

On another forum, a new P365 owner was experiencing a 1-2% incidence of failures to extract, so that bug might not yet have been fixed. The two biggest concerns have been broken strikers and trigger bar springs that come unseated, resulting in a dead trigger. Both of these failures take the pistol down immediately and no remedial action is available. They have occurred after round counts running in the multiple hundreds, and they occur without prior warning. Not too good that, for a pistol clearly designed for self-defense and EDC.

SIG finally owned up to the fact that a large batch of pistols produced from early February of this year through April had strikers that may have been substandard predisposing them to fail. Most of the broken strikers had build dates in that period, but I have heard of one pistol with a May 2018 build date that suffered a broken striker. Many P365 owners have noted evidence of rather severe striker swipe on the primers of their ejected cases, and this may contribute to the strikers breaking off at the tip. Quite a few P365 owners have spent $100 on a tool steel aftermarket striker for their P365s in the interest of reliability. Personally, I am not convinced that the broken striker issue has been laid to rest. Unless you are willing to shell out a C note for a new part that does not enhance the function of the pistol in any way, only ensures the reliability of the striker.

As for the dead trigger/dislodged trigger bar spring issue, I am pretty sure that this dragon has not been slain. On another forum, one P365 owner had his trigger go dead, returned the pistol to SIG for repair, and had it go dead again within 200 rounds, and this was a recent occurrence.

In my opinion, SIG should recall all pistols with build dates from Feb through April of this year and replace the strikers, and they need to redesign the trigger bar spring.

I'd ask him if they could throw a bone to owners of older Sig models and provide some magazine support.

Specifically, P230's/P232's and even more specifically, P230 32 acp marked ones. Its frustrating trying to find mags on the secondary market.

Stainless/blued, I don't care... keep the unit cost below $50 and I'd be a happy camper.

Meh, they are in business to make money. It's not like we wear them out very often.

I've had a lot more mags wear out than guns over the years. They are the weak link in auto-loaders.

Sure, they wear out if you shoot them enough, but I am just not concerned I am going to go broke wearing out Sig mags. Folks who shoot the pistol games? Yea, maybe they have more reason to fuss. :)

Truth.

Though for a serious defensive option (which all my guns are) I prefer 5-8 mags for backup, range, spare plus reloads etc.

The high price mags, such as Sig CZ and HK, really frontload a purchase, especially since a holster is needed as well.

It's mostly what's put off me buying a HK P30 for years.

Well past the rep Q/A session: I would like to see a DA/SA sub compact variant. (CA peeps won't get one but would be nice in the line-up.)

I get it with the mags, bought 10 Sig mags each for the 2022 and 229. One can get MecGar for the Sigs fortunately.

HK OTOH is :(

I agree. I still like sigs, however their mags always cost more than other manufacturers.
Not to take the thread off-course, but the superb Mec-Gar aftermarket mags are often on sale for about half the price of SIG-branded factory mags (at least for the P-228, P-229-1, P-226).

If the OP did ask any questions about the P-365, we're all waiting to see what the response(s) were ...

I have yet to find 15 round mec gar mags for the 229-1. +2 mags, sure, but 15 tubes don't seem to be available.

I have 3 HKs and 1 Sig. I have 5 or 6 mags for each gun.

With some googling powers you can find them on sale. Check weekly and you may be surprised. And even if you feel the need to have 10 mags per gun, and I can certainly understand that desire, you don't have to buy them all at once.

Just saying...... high priced mags are annoying but there are ways to mitigate that if you have patience.

Saw one on GB gor for almost $800. Crazy. They have a winner, growing pains or not.

I would mention that I have 5 SIGs and I’d like to find a decent West German P226, but I have no desire to buy any “new” production SIGs. If he asks why, I’d tell him that I believe that the quality level of the older models is generally better than the newer models. Then when he disagrees & tries to explain why my belief is is wrong, I’d thank him for his time & be on my way.
