Thanks for the Top Gun Supply link! Could use a few more for my P229, especially at that price!

Reading all these questions makes me feel like I would not want to be a company Representative for ALL THE WHISKEY IN IRELAND.
I've drank some really good whiskey in Ireland, in bars that are hundreds of years older than our country is.

It'd be worth it.

If we plotted size / weight of firearms or the power of calibers they are chambered in throughout the last 100 years, we would see a steady decrease in both measures throughout that time (with some fliers here and there).

From the .big 44LC, .45 ACP, .44 Magnum revolvers through the .357 Magnum wheel guns with fliers in 38 spl and .50 AE Desert Eagle and others down through .40 S&W / .357 Sig Early S&W autos, Sigs to Glocks and strikers in 9mmm and heading towards .380 mouse guns,

Makes me think us baby boomers are getting old .... (hopefully older AND smarter) .... (at least if I don't turn on the TV)

That is large hammer fired single stack fandgun with aluminum alloy frame making it expensive to make. I would d/c that in favor of striker fired double stack with cheap plastic frame. Oh wait our military just adopted that and compact version is available.!
Believe it was discontinued with the advent of the P-225-A1, an excellent single-stack nine with much superior ergonomics to the P-239's .... I know the little pistol, and plastic pistol, fans find it hard to believe, but some of us like a somewhat larger hammer-fired DA/SA pistol, even with a paltry 8+1 capacity.

Have they worked out all of the issues with the new P365?
This was going to be my main thrust point by point. As it turned out, the rep was in their "other" store on Friday when I went down. So, I talked to the LGS's resident gunsmith who gave the 365, after a discussion of "lock back failures", "primer drag", "follower scratches", "trigger problems", and the like a BIG thumbs up. It was a very casual, detailed, and friendly discussion which I appreciated. SIG is definitely headed in the right direction with this pistol and it will be a model that will dominate the market eventually.

The only gun I regret selling was my old 225. Well, I don't regret selling it because it's new owner needed it, I regret not replacing it cheap with another a year later.

Great gun, easy to carry. Mine didn't get much use because it wasn't smaller enough compared to the 229 to justify the 8 rounds, but man, great gun.

The 239 (and 245) it perfectly shaped to just feel wrong in my hands, I'm not sad to see it go. At least my 245 with xgrip and 8 round mags feels and shoots like a 220, so that's nice.

Uhh... okay.

I was with you unti "i would..."
Then you lost me completely at "oh wait..."

You do you, Bud.

Not everybody gets excited about a "cheap plastic frame" or whatever the military is doing.

I bave held and examined one of these P365s and honestly don't know what the excitment is about. I mean one can get two KelTek P11s instead of this. Aren't two handgus better than one with a spare magazine?

Since the OP has reported back that he was unable to speck with the Factory Rep to get questions answered, the subject of this thread has come to an end
