New to THR...first post! Rifle shooter for years and have purchased a new sig226 9mm. Any guidance on barrel break-in, etc.? Thanks much.

"Breaking" in the bore itself is not necessary. You should shoot enough rounds to "break in" the moving parts and establish reliability, but there isn't enough accuracy potential in a handgun barrel to make a "break-in" worthwhile.

Welcome to The High Road.
Really no barrel break in with a pistol. Just shoot a lot and clean.
On a Sig I would watch the rails to make sure there are no burrs gouging the alloy frame. On my Sigs I like a light grease on the rails like Slide Glide Lite.

Welcome

As said, unlike a rifle, the barrel of a Sig doesn't need to be broken in...the first 200 rounds should be enough for the parts to mate correctly.

For practice and classes, please liberally apply grease (not oil) to your frame rails. Sigs like to run wet...I've even seen folks float oil on top of the grease on their rails...and it protects the alloy frame
