During the 92 LA Riots law Abiding citizens had to wait 10 days to pick up their "Paid For" Guns ! Our Government fears that we will defend ourselves from the Angry underpriviledged mobs or Brown dwarf Hoards (And that would be politically incorrect and downright Racist) ALL Guns will be in museums in 20 years !

Alright, Chicken Little, that's enough. If that is how you feel, it is time to put down that piece of the sky and start writing letters. Saying that all guns will be in museums in 20 years is just silly. Even the more hopeful anti-gun person wouldn't predict all guns being in museums in 20 years.
Besides, if all guns will be banned in 20 years, won't that include your precious SKS that you just declared to the be the gun of the future?

How's about this:
If and when AWB II passes, we go to the local gun stores. We take our DAWs with us. We sit and wait for the authorities to come and pick up the unsold ones, we just look over at the door and stare. Magazines in and rifle in battery, of course...

OK all guns wont be On display (Some will be in the hands of LEO's or What ever Military is pullin the strings) ! You guys need to feel some of that early 90's AWB confusion and disillusionment before you optimisim will be dented?
We can't out shoot the "Govmint" if they come to get our guns. We will lose that one. Buying more guns won't solve anything, although it's a good idea. We have to beat them in the poles. Vote for and support financially those who will protect our freedoms.

Is it just me or would a small little .223 rifle with 10 round en bloc clips be pretty neat. I wouldn't want to be forced to use it, but it would be pretty neat. Basically a small Garand in different calibers.
Yeh, that's the gun that Ruger was just about to turn the Mini into if need be and law demanded (or the apocryphal story goes). I'm very devoted to the en-bloc system on the Garand and actually prefer it to mag feeding--capacity and top off being the downside. It is truly a one handed operation and the supply of Garand clips is almost endless in practical terms.
But with the price of 5.56 being what it is, .06 is today's bargain.

Gun control is like abortion, it's a political "no win". You will lose one vote for everyone you gain. It's too close to election time. The Dems are in great position to take back the Whitehouse. Why risk mobilizing the NRA and all gun owning Democrats (such as my brother) by making a big push? There are always bills "in the works", you need to follow them, but not panic. The real worry will come after the election.
