standard duty: Colt Agent .38 Special
always gun: Beretta Bobcat .22lr
walking heavy: Chinese Full Auto Mauser C96 copy in .45ACP

Khaos Rules!

Didn't Agent 86 carry a M36? I remember 99 carried a stereo revolver. Now that's a must have gun.

Do you remember the episode where Max checks to see if his gun was loaded? He held the gun up, opened the cylinder and all the bullets came raining down upon his face. :D

"I worked in counterintellegence in the sixties in Germany. Everyday carry was a colt agent. A 1911 slicked up by an army marksmanship unit when things might get interesting. Never had occasion to use a long gun, but practiced with the M3, M14, and later with the M16. " Ya mean you weren't issued a 2" Model 12 (or mod 10) with square butt and some cheap Bucheimer shoulder rig??? I wasnt in Germany but thats what we got for SEA and Southern Command and US. BTW I did carry a Commander of my own in most places, and my BUG WAS a 950 Berretta!

So, let's say it's the early 1960s and you're some sort of Secret Agent type person (CIA, MI6, whatever you prefer). It's your job to trot the globe and help fight off the agents of the Red Menace, not to mention the henchmen of the occasional self-absorbed supervillain.
Wait, you mean it's not?

No wonder I've got no luck with the ladies.

In the original Flemings books Bond was carrying revolvers. A hammerless 38 snubbie and a 357 magnum in the car.

Browning HiPower. Ammo availible world wide, used by most armies of the time. Supposedly in thing for American Special Forces at that time.
Snubby for deeper cover.
Heavier firepower as needed - that's what Q is for.
American muscle car - Shelby Cobra or F40.
And martinis should be stirred, not shaken. Those little bits of ice are annoying, I don't need my drink further watered down, and if a person does need it that way, they shouldn't be drinking a martini.
Woman? New one every episode baby!

I liked the "lower rent" than James Bond Spy Movies of the 60's.

Knowing that I'd have to have one of those infinint shot 3" M-10 revolvers that only ran dry long enough for me to be catured by (and eventually seduce) the sexy evil she-villain. Also comes with a suppresor the size of a half smoked Cigar. Of course I'd also need the the S/W 76 in the red convertible as well. Oh and a hot blond co-spy of course.

Ahhh the days when even the "naughty" girls had tan lines...drool... ehh sorry guess I shared too much..

I would be just like Bill Cosby's character, Alexander Scott, in "I Spy" and carry a Colt Commander. Now he was cool. :D

A second vote for the Stechkin APS. Might look at a WZ63 as the "glovebox" gun as well.

Hmmm - a little *too* East Bloc maybe...

I think the HK P9S came a little too late for the "1960's," but would likely be an amusing choice with extended bbl and can.

I wouldn't carry any firearms. If need be, I'd just smack the BG with my Jethro Bodine double naught spy iron hat. Wheels would be Jed's truck.:D

errr...SMERSH is coming

well, i just want to be different.. so waths the dark SMERSH/KGB spy coming out of nowhere, with Nagant revolver fitted with Bramit silencer, poisoned armour-piercing umbrella, pen-gun for deep concealment, and a Tokarev and PPS-43 loaded with hot AP ammo.
Just add 3-barreled portcigar for SP-2 silent ammo, and here I am =)

Cool thread...was raised on those flick's....

My Choices:
Colt Commander for daily packing. Spare threaded barrel(or bushing) for suppressor(rather large back then for a .45) for very special applications.
Colt Government with decent sights for serious stuff, and to back up the suppressed Commander.
M3A1 'Greasegun' with suppressor for special missions, stashed in the American muscle car.
A 1928 Navy Thompson with 50 rd drum mag would be good for CQB when you had to kill every mother in the room.
A Delisle carbine for quiet removal of human 'obstacles' at urban distances.
Have to have a S&W M25 or 26 with a 4inch tube and half moon clips for the superspy bachelor pad. A concealed panel would hold my 'collection' that included a StG45, 1918 BAR, MG34, Bren, and a few other 'goodies'.
I'd get a Argentine 1927 and a Norwigian 1914 for playing 'sterile'(not that I'd likely fool anyone as to my nationality)
A Browning P-35 would be a handy item overseas, but super spies can get an airdrop of ammo with the touch of a buttom on his/her concealed radio......can we say 'AIRSTRIKE?(another great American invention...Napalm!).
The Cobra sounds like the car of choice. Can I have the American version of 'Q' afix a forward firing Ma Duece under the hood, please?

Well since I'm a spy during the sixties I'd have to go with a Mauser Broomhandle C96 chambered for 9mm parabellum. Only my Broomhandle would be customized with a barrel under 4". Say perhaps 3.9 or 3.8 inches.
Oh what the heck, it would also be one of the full auto versions with the detachable magazine. Of course I would carry it in a fantastically designed shoulder harness that conceals perfectly under my tuxedo.

My backup would be a Mauser HSc in 32 acp. I have no idea where I would carry it - ankle perhaps?

My car guns would consist of a 4" S&W Model 28 and a MAT 49. I know that's a French subgun, but it's also very compact and concealable. A fair amount of firepower in a small package. I'd probably throw in a few fragmentation and smoke grenades for good measure.

Okay that's my list. Perhaps not real practical, but fun. It's my super spy character after all.

When I worked CID I carried a Colt Det Spec. I actually liked it, It reminded me of 77 Sunset Strip.

I would carry a Sig 210 as my main gun and a Lercker (rare italian full auto handgun dating back to the 1950s) as a backup. Should Q not be able to find me a Lercker, I would simply go for a S&W Chief special stainless...

I'd carry whatever was commonly encountered in the given environment. Behind the Iron Curtain or in SE Asia, a Makarov. West Europe, a Hi-Power. Inside the USA, a Colt Commander.

Took the words right out of my mouth--or maybe the keystrokes right out from under my fingers?--at any rate, that would be exactly my strategy.

No sense in going to all the trouble of having a secret identity if your gun gives you away as soon as you pull it out. Also, I can imagine getting .380ACP or .32ACP behind the iron curtain might get a bit difficult.
