"Maybe I could sell my minty stainless Security Six for a sheet of plywood".

Fixed it for you.
Gonna be bad during next hurricane season if plywood and osb are out of reach pricewise. Saw a contractor board up a damaged garage door yesterday with 6 sheets of 3/4 ply. I asked him why he would spend the price of a new metal door on ply. He said metal door was now twice as much IF you could find one. Not Good. Stick to your guns.

Well if you both purchased them back when it's probably a fair trade. They were about the same cost around here. Seems bartering works today as well as or better than cash.;)
I think bartering works better than cash for some things.

If you barter shooting supplies for shooting supplies, you have something you can use.

If you sell your supplies, you have cash but there is nothing to buy.

No truer words right now from bullets to real estate!!. Also the scariest (and downright painful) truth as well. Been poor and couldn't afford stuff. That was ok as it gave me hope and drive. Now that i have $$. the stuff has either moved further out of reach price wise or is flat not available. Still have hope but not as much

I work at a home improvement store. After we loaded a pallet of OSB onto a customer's truck I offered my services to "ride shotgun". o_O
He said he had it covered... ;)
