Picked up a Norinco ATD last night. It's a Chinese clone of the little Browning .22 (take apart, bottom ejection, semi-auto).
It turned out to be in very close to new condition with very few rounds through it.
Took it to the indoor range today just to test it out before putting optics on it and I took along the 50 yard Irons target just for giggles. Put a couple hundred rounds through it without a malfunction. I only printed 2 of the color targets, so I put 20 rounds in one at 50 yards just to make sure I knew where the rifle was shooting. Firing position was sitting with the rifle rested on my forearm. First target showed just a tad high and slightly left with a center hold on the yellow, so I took a 5 o'clock hold on the yellow and fired 5 on a fresh target.
Ammo was Federal "target grade" 40 grain bulk pack and it works pretty well. Aside from all the ink it used, I like the bright colors of the target for irons. Even with my bifocals, I was able to get a pretty good sight picture with this target. Really, there are only 5 bullet holes in the target, check the grease rings on the blowup. Pretty light paper and just hung from a clip on the track so there was a bit of tearing. 3 in the 10 ring, 2 in the 9 for a total of 48.
I picked up a Weaver scope mount and am putting it on this evening. The rear sight has to be removed to be able to put the Weaver #60a rail on as it bolts to the barrel and hangs back over the receiver. I'm putting the BSA scope off the old Romanian M69 on this one as I traded the Rommie and some cash for the Norinco.
