I like both for different reasons. Out of the box I like the Marlin, due to a better stock and trigger, but with a little work (stock and trigger) I think the Stevens has the potential for greater accuracy. Both are good solid rifles and a great value.You may prefer the Stevens, but I like the Marlin a little better.

Unless I missed it before, they recently added that, and it is handy. I used it just today to help a friend find a nice .223Rem. turn bolt, and it sure was helpful...just don't hit back because it's coded in Adobe Flash.They have a great search function on their site.
