Stupid things dealers have said or done

Seeing we have a stupid customer thread I thought a studid dealer thread would be a nice touch also

It's Ok for a non LEO to have LEO only mags. Cause thats they way you bought the gun. Got this when I was informed that the used Glock I was looking at that had full Cap mags was a cops gun. After I asked if the mags were marked Law Enforcement only.

You can leqally buy and import full cap mags over the net. Same place.

10 round mags are Illegal in NY been that way since the ban in 99. Heard that at a diffrent place while looking for a holster. I waited around till that customer left and followed him out and informed him that the guy was full of well ****. I have heard all this in 4 days at 2 diffrent gun shops.

I was informed that the obviously post ban FAL with too many evil features I was looking at was pre ban, and thrown out when I mentioned very discreetly that it was an illegally configured postban. What an arse that guy is. I see black rifles of all types regularly that are blatantly illegal, a good way to get a 10 year vacation.

A buddy bought a Kel-Tec P-32 a couple months ago. The gun had a problem; never been fired. The day after he bought it we went back to the dealer for a remedy.

My buddy is real diplomatic and simply told the dealer of the problem.
The first thing the dealer says is "What did you do to it?"
Buddy said "Nothing, I bought it yesterday; you can see it hasn't even been fired."
Dealer then asks "Then why is the front sight missing?"

The kicker is that the P-32 front sight is an integrated part of the slide, CNC cut into the slide billet.

In a strange shop in another city, far far away...overheard the shop owner showing a customer a Kimber (priced $200 over retail) while explaining how the Kimber was the most technologically advanced 1911 ever in the history of the world.

After the customer left, I sidled up to the counter and asked what he thought of the STI/SVI 1911 platform. His reply was a hearty "huh? was'dat?"

1. The guy who told The Wife that she needed to get rid of her .38 and get a .25 because a .25 bullet bounced around more in the body and caused more damage.

2. The gal who told me her chicom SKS was worth $500 because they weren't importing anymore of them. ( I offered to sell her mine for $350 but she declined)

3) The worst of all, the guy who handed me a closed Stevens 311 after sweeping the room with it, finger on trigger. I immediately cracked it open. You guessed it, two loaded rounds looking back at me.

It just so happens he was. However I purchased within the last month in NY a Brand New 10/22 with a 10 round mag at Dicks. This same gun is Available brand new with 10 round mag at every Wally world in my area of NY.

I have also spent a half hour or so reading NYS law. The only mention of a 5 round limit so far is in the assult weapons ban in NY. And that limit appears to be an exception to the assult weapons definition.

"(e) provided, however, that such term does not include: (i) any rifle,
shotgun or pistol that (A) is manually operated by bolt, pump, lever or
slide action; (B) has been rendered permanently inoperable; or (C) is an
antique firearm as defined in 18 U.S.C. 921(a)(16);
(ii) a semiautomatic rifle that cannot accept a detachable magazine
that holds more than five rounds of ammunition;"

Could you please show me the law were buying,and or posessing a rifle magazine of greater then 5 rounds is illegal in NYS?
