Surprise! K22 Outshoots My M41??

Haven't practiced with the 5 screw K22 in a month.

Said, "What the heck? Take it out of the safe and shoot it!"

Silhouette match this morning:

I scored higher with the K22 than the M41 (which I've been doing a LOT of practice with)!

Lesson Learned:
Do NOT neglect the K22! Shoot it!

Placed 2nd in my class in both irons and optics. Woot!

It's really crazy. Revolvers theoretically/intrinsically should be less accurate than autos but generally aren't.

No reason for revolvers to be less accurate. A properly timed quality revolver has good inherent accuracy, and the barrel, frame and sights are solidly put together. An automatic typically has the barrel as a separate component and one or both of the sights as part of another assembly, the slide.

I watched a former Phantom F-4 pilot (Vietnam era, not Gulf War era) put his immaculate K-22 through it's paces today. What a beautiful gun. It's sad that this era in guncraft has passed. I hope I can acquire one some day.

I started ISSF competition with an old club owned Colt OMM rimfire revolver and shoot revolvers better when it comes to accuracy.

My favourite rimfires for target work are my Korth and the Hämmerli 212.

Both platforms are hyper accurate but I find the 41 to b easier to shoot well

I loaned it to a buddy and when he returned it he said something to the effect of "damn...no creep..it just GOES"

Generally I find that most people, myself included, shoots autos better. No cylinder to rotate (when shooting double action) which can disturb the sight picture.

The 41 is no exception. Mine is from the early 60s and is VERY accurate.

I was spraying it with an inexpensive red dot and cheap ammo.

I bought a 1947 K-22 about 3 months ago. It's one of the most expensive guns I own, but it's all in the never sell category. What a great gun!

Try a Colt Officers Model Target and a Colt Woodsman. My 1938 woodsman shoots 3/4" to 7/8" groups at 25 yards, and the Officers Model Target will do about the same.
