Tax dodgers taunt police from hilltop compound

I'd be willing to bet you that if all the Revenooers left the scene and called off this zoo those dangerous scofflaws could be taken into custody very easily at a later date without any bruhawhaw. They are known and they can't stay in the house forever. Hey, if they do, isn't that just like going to prison only the goobermint doesn't have to pay for their keep?

We had a local colorful fellow a couple of years ago berate a couple of teeny bopper girls because of their immodest (he thought) dress. The fellow peddled newspapers on his bicycle for a living. He was a half sandwich short of a picnic. Instead of the local police chief calling him on the phone and telling him to come to hq for a chat about the girls, or waiting till he was peddling his newspapers on his bike and scarf him up, the local police, along with the sheriff and the State Police Swat Team raided his house in the nighttime. When it was over, one state trooper was dead, the house was burned down, the suspect escaped only to be shot dead by state police a few days later after he was surrounded in his car in a nearby neighbors driveway.

I'm not bashing Authority here, but they do have a tendency to create their own blooper videos from time to time. Sometimes common sense and authority are mutually exclusive imho. Before anyone begins to flame me for chiding LE, be it known that I was in LE for several years and had 3 of my close friends and brother officers murdered while on the job during that time.

These folks are just a little bit off their rockers...

That being said, the 16th Amendment was ratified fair and square. Their argument that the 16th was never properly ratified doesn't hold water. However, if they really wanted to pursue an interesting case, instead of going after income taxes, they would go after progressive income taxes.

While the 16th Amendment gives the Federal Gov't power to lay and collect taxes, it could be argued that it doesn't necessarily give the gov't power to tax people different rates based on their level of income. The current progressive tax scheme creates a state-sponsored double standard. Why should one citizen be forced to pay a higher tax rate than his neighbor?

They weren't allowed to present a defense in their case so we can't be sure what their legal argument totally is.

From the article:
"The people of Plainfield feel the whole thing has been mismanaged from the get-go," says Stephen Taylor, a Plainfield native who is state agriculture commissioner. "He's got this band of loonies up there right now. There's this constant traffic and helicopters overhead and everything. Goddamn crazies."

Dissenters? In America? Standing up for what they believe??? A band of loonies, indeed.

I especially liked this part:

"Everybody feels a tiny bit of embarrassment. This is what we're going to be known for?" Taylor said. "We don't want to be known for this." He then added, "I thought that whole 'live free or die' thing just meant I wouldn't give up my diet sodas! I'm outta this insanitarium!"

I'm hereby making it a goal in life to be able to move to New Hampshire and join the Free State Loonies.

grampster hit the nail on the head.

The easiest solution is for the gooberment ninjas to go home, wait until the knuckleheads leave the house to go to Wal-Mart, and nab them when they are stuffing their goods into their vehicle.

Know what's funny? Back when I lived in Massachusetts(1946 to 1989), the Kennedy family home was called "The Kennedy Compound". It isn't called that today. I wonder why...

Woody

Nowadays it's a compound only if you're surrounded by Federal Law Enforcement Agents.

You can protest and you can protest like an idiot. They chose the latter. Mere foolishness.

My thoughts exactly. These folks are off their rockers and out of their minds.

When people rant about Freemasons secretly running the judiciary, the Illuminati and comparing their situation as "1776 all over again" they can safely be labeled as loonies.

I remember "no new taxes". We got them anyway. Nice representation.
The speaker of said words was promptly unelected.

If he has a .50BMG, they're probably just surrounding him to keep him from shooting down various airliners.

I do find it odd that there is almost no national news on the issue. This thread is the first I heard of it. Does it get more play up in the Northeast? The Waco standoff sure got a lot of play down here.

If shots are fired, the media will be all over it.

Doesn't sound like a fair trial if done in abstentia.

Funny how the Gubment will throw more money away and risk the lives of how many just to prosecute people than just walking away...

I wonder why our nation is financially and morally bankrupt.

It was done in absentia because the people refused repeatedly to appear, and LE did not go get them and force them to appear.

Come to downtown Tampa, I can asure you the masons operate quite openly in the court system. I worked for one of my state's largest lawfirms. Their building is two blocks from the courthouse and directly across the street from the lodge. You can watch the lawyers, judges and other officials come and go from the lodge from my office window. And watc for rings when you shake a hand, and observe the architecture, and on and on and on. It's just the way things are done.

That's all beside the point. After property tax, income tax is the most evil tax in our country and there is no legitimate excuse for either. Capital gains tax is right up there, too, paying taxes on earnings from money you already paid taxes on. The feds don't need to be worried about taxing our incomes when they can't even manage the basics like the national debt, balancing their budget and keeping a lid on wealth-destroying inflation.

The Browns are doing good work. Our country needs a lot more righteous civil disobedience.

Why doesn't the IRS just detonate the tracking devices that the government implanted in their brains?
:neener:

So you're telling me a bunch of men who work in the same field and building belong to the same club? This is shocking. Of course they do, they probably bbq with each others families on the weekend, play golf together, and are members of the elk, moose, masons, or The Loyal Order of the Water Buffalo, whatever is big in the area. A social club is not indicitative of a grand controlling conspiracy theory. Thats up to the grand poobah to decide.

What can you do other than give someone the opportunity to come to court?
