Television Show Looking for Guns

My guess with the show is that they will want to appeal to a broad cross-section of viewers.

If they are too specifically technical, they will severly narrow their audience to folks only like us (not that we are a bad group, there just aren't enough of us).

My guess is that they will be looking for some of that 'reality in-fighting' like American Chopper.
Their fighting drew folks in who were not just 'motorcycle' or 'Harley' people.

They will need some gimmick to draw in a larger and more broad cross-section of viewers.

As someone said earlier a show based on Fintknapper's thread would be fantastic. Especially if you got some professional African hunters to compete with some Mythbusters types with gadgets.

Or the guns of individuals who have had to use them in self-defense - average americans - and have your gun smith produce a personal firearm for them. Their stories would be intense and would add interest to the gunsmithing project - similar in a somewhat different way to the house show that customizes or builds a special house for an individual.

Imagine a show where regular folks who defended themselves with a firearm have their situation re-enacted (dramatization) to show exactly what occurred and the "armed citizen" can discuss any thoughts they had on how they could have been better armed for the situation and have the gun smith make them a gun to suit those thoughts.

For example, an armed citizen successfully defended their lives during a home invasion and realized that having a crimson trace on their j-frame might have greatly helped them to get a hit on their attacker more quickly than after 4 misses as it really went down.
