I don't post much these days, however, I feel the need to get this information our there as much as I can, and point out the critical flaws of the recently proposed terror watch list gun ban.
Problems with this idea:
1. Banning possession of firearms and ammunition to people who are only "Suspected" of being terrorists, is unconstitutional on its face. The 2nd amendment, and 5th amendments being the primary roadblocks.
2. The terror watch list works because it's secret, and it's inclusion criteria are secret so that terrorists cannot search the list and cherry pick members of their team to carry out attacks. If being on the watch list becomes a prohibitor, terrorists can screen themselves by attempting to purchase a gun, and being denied. So, this plan can actually help them stay under the radar.
3. The watch list is comprised of hundreds of thousands of people, alot of which have no connection to terror whatsoever, and even more who are there in error.
and probably the biggest flaw with this bill is the laughable "Appeal" provision included and praised by the Democrats as a way to get your rights back if you are mistakenly included on the watch list.
In the Feinstein bill, the "Quick and speedy appeals process" consists of suing the United States of America in federal court, and restricts the judge from being able to consider the full version of redacted documents. There is no way someone can support this bill, and steadfastly call themselves a freedom loving american.
No way.
