I don't have any real data to show for this, but I expect that you could do about as much with a rifle with no sights as you could with a shotgun shooting slugs through a barrel with no sights. You could probably hit a person at about 25 or so yards with it reliably.

All I know is that those sightless rifles are intended t'be scoped.

Ummm - that rifle wasn't designed to be fired without sights, it's just shipped with no sights because the manufacturer assumes the user will put a scope on it.

Well it does say "out of the box accuracy" and it doesn't come out of the box with sights.:neener:

I'm no Hi speed shotgunner, but can hit a torso with a slug from a standing position at 25 yards every time and have hit a 55 gallon drum lid at 75yds. I bet 100 yards with a no sight rifle from kneeling or prone would be fairly easy on a full size torso. I think it would be easier than with a shotgun, drop wouldn't be a factor at all.

That's not a BDL, that's a CDL.

That rifle requires a scope.

Don't let anyone see you shooting that thing without a scope.

to : GunnySkox , AFhack , strambo , asknight. thks alot for your reply. :)

i'm military trained with Colt M-16A1. I know that bolt action rifles , semi auto rifles without sights are supposed to be mounted with scopes. I'm just curious about the effective range for a rifle without sights.

thks again for your replies. :)
