It is expensive and probably as accurate as a thrown baseball but looks cool. Anyone got any experience with these they would be willing to share?

I have one, although it has the horizontal foregrip. My dad carried the real thing in WWII, and I have always wanted a real one. Unfortunately the local laws prevent me form it. This thing is very cool, shoots OK, and always brings out a few smiles at the range.

They are lots of fun. I sold mine when .45ACP ammo pretty much disappeared during the big Obama scare.

They are big, heavy, fairly accurate and very fun. They have almost no recoil at all so it's almost like shooting a .22 only it makes bigger holes.

The one thing that really bugged me about them is the long barrel, just looks wrong. If I bought another I would just go with the pistol version and one point sling.

I agree that the barrel looks funky. I believe they make one with a shorter barrel, but it's an SBR, and again, I can't legally own one here.

No practical use whatsoever. Overweight, underpowered, obsolete...



I have several thousand rounds through the one on the top, and put quite a few through the one on the bottom before I traded it. Like posted above, it has virtually no recoil, but its so heavy you'll get a sore shoulder from holding it up.

The long barrel looks goofy, however it makes the report very quiet. The "ping" of the bolt cycling is louder than the report. I dont advocate it, but it could be fired outdoors without hearing protection with no discomfort.

IME, mine is very accurate and despite what the owner's manual says, I've had great luck with all sorts of JHPs and even SWCs.

I have a Commando version (like the bottom one on ZachS's picture) but I refinished the stock so it looks like a military M1928. Like everyone has said above, heavy, impractical but lots of fun. Great for mowing down a bunch of Jerry bowling pins in the Ardenne forest.

random thoughts, you have to make the decision...

1 VERY heavy @ 13 lbs, empty. non issue for original full auto versions, as the weight helps control the recoil(s). add to this that hornady lists their 230 grain box of 20 rounds as 1.22 lbs.

2 kinda slow, low visibility sights, with little available in way of non -permanent mods. they loose much value if modified.

3 some will need modified to accept GI mags. kahr/auto-ord mags spendy, make sure before purchase.

4 as noted above, it seems recoiless, even shooting 230gr ball. very low noise signature from 45 ACP from carbine length bbls, and 20-30% velocity gains.

5 you should be able to beat that price, easily.
