Yep. That's box #6, last one on the right, top row. We'll keep the light on.

Ok, you've got my attention! Now, how do I post a picture of my Remington? I assume you can't enter the shooting contest unless you're a member, and you can't be a member without posting a picture???

I think I've figured out how to post an image; so can I join the Remington Club?

Okay, I will join in too...

Next trip to the Range, Mr. Remington comes with...and Targets too, Target stew...

Rather a similar look!

Mine is a 'Uberti' though, and, some sort of Megnetic Stainless.

Very nice shooter.

Geez. Now I'm going to have to get out my smallest caliper set to measure the group sizes....where did I put that microscope?

I've been looking for an excuse to get out and shoot some BP. What a great idea to have a postal match. Who cares what the results are. It's a great idea to get us out shooting and have some fun bragging rights.... :D

And thanks to you mykeal for taking on the task of hosting it.

Oops! I didn't realize that this is a fairly new thread. So I'll have to post up my picture to prove I'm worthy.

Here's a family portrait of my two consecutive serial number Ubertis along with Jr, the NAA "The Earl".

And here I am rarin' to go and trying to look mean. Clint Eastwood I'm definetly not :D

Just put 'em all through the same hole...a lot easier that way, no measurin'..!

New Pietta target sights model from Cabela's.

One ragged 1" hole shooting six 454 ball's over a 380 case of cream of wheat on 30 grains of 777 at 10 yds... clearly the class of the field in terms of accuracy in my Cap and Ball stable so far.

I was surprised and pleased with the grips too... Nice looking wood for a low priced pistol in my opinion.

Count me in.

If you will note the distance....10 yards. A target sighted gun can be expected to shoot that way at 10 yards!

Regarding that paper plate group I posted... I wouldn't get too worried about me dominating any competitions for a while.

That group was shot two handed, supporting my forearms on a tripod.

Also, as noted on the target, the temperature was 20 degrees fahrenheit... awfully cold, and almost certainly unattainable again this year around Portland Oregon.

It was my first trial putting that gun on paper... but it was shot with a pretty heavy load, 30 grains of 777... almost certainly not the load I would need to find to put down that sort of groups at a more typical temperature.

The fact that the group isn't particularly near the center is totally irrelevant... I only started seriously trying to learn to shoot a pistol last summer and I have made the decision not to adjust any of the sights on my guns until I have put in enough range time to smooth out my technique.

I suffer mildly from the high and lefts... but my typical groupings with my other guns are slowly coming onto my point of aim as I practice.

I'm trying to avoid the problem I developed in golf many years ago. I sliced the ball... and the more I tried to correct for the slice... the worse it got. The only reliable solution I've ever found to cure a slice... Aim into the woods on the right... ha... ha... ha... works every time.

So rather than move my sights to compensate for my bad trigger control and grip habits... I'm working on refining my shooting technique.

bill9722 and I thought my factory Pietta grips were nice! beautiful grain on yours!! Alienbogey do tell on yours.. never seen one that short..

Hokey Smoke!

alienbogey,

That sure is a stubby little cannon you've got there!
Bet it barks real good!!:D

As to shooting in the postal, my old Remmy is ok, but I still don't shoot it enough to even think of competition with it. I just shoot coyotes;)

I bought the snub from a guy who had it cut down and the barrel crowned and a dovetailed front sight installed - somebody did a nice job. As you can see it has an R&D 45 Colt cylinder and I got a C&B cylinder for it as well. As you can't see the cylinder pin is held in place by a screw from underneath.

It's a project gun - I have a few ideas for it, such as obtaining a loading lever and cutting and shaping it so that it makes a snubby 'web' underneath while retaining the cylinder pin, maybe going to a Kirst cylinder with loading gate, new grips at some point, and maybe even a custom holster for carry. We'll see.

Oh yeah, it's fun to shoot, too. :D
