One of our members posted a link on Monday for CCI400 SRP at Brownells.
Got all the way through the process and my receipt says "Back Ordered."
Haven't been able to back order primers for a while.
3 weeks ago Mass Ammo had FC and CCI LPP listed for $399 and $396 per 1k brick. the FCs were $399.
A week later they had the same primers listed for $339 and $336.
This past weekend they had those same primers listed for $198 and $196.
Looking at auction prices on GB and the trend is coming down from $215 per 500 ($430 per 1k) down to $175 per 500 for the static "Buy it now" for SRP. $140\500 for SRP on auctions closing with just one bidder.

Powders are becoming available to the point that I won't pay the Hazmat fee on anything under 4 lbs.
Now the one pounders are sticking around for days at a time.

Yep, Spring is in the air and things are slowly returning to normal.

From your lips to God’s ears...

my local has 9 jugs of Red Dot just sitting there. My Sportsman Guilds Wearhouse gets shipments of ammo, some primers, some powder on Wednesdays.. primers went fast but the rest just sat there

I think my “Forget February” protest had a good effect! Gun sales down 30% February too

Seems to be getting better picked up 1K of 450s at Cabela's in Waco they had had 1k spp still on shelf called a buddy he came up there and got them, they are starting to put stuff on the shelves again and not in the back.
YEP! just don’t buy it unless you need it... or really want it and the panic will die and shelves will fill

Apparently Cabelas quit doing primers/powder mail order so they can get you in the store.

My wife and I got 1,000 SPP each about 10 days ago.

And some 9mm hollow points.

My local Cabela's and Sportsmen's Warehouse both quit advertising primers or powder online.
They want you to walk into the store before you become disappointed.
So I usually accidentally knock something over on the way out. Usually it's SC Gamecocks gear. ;)
smart move on the store... because I usually buy other stuff too. Like cases, fishing line, peppermint taffy

I had a “concerning” experience at my local Sportsmans about 6 weeks ago. I was doing my weekly rounds of Sportsmans, Cabelas, Scheels.

As I walked to the gun counter, I looked at the “powder list” and saw they were out. Then I asked the guys behind the counter the same question I ask them every week, “I know you’re gonna laugh, but do you have any primers?”

One guy said no! The other guy asked me what I was looking for? I told him SPP or SRP. I heard the original guy ask the other guy, in a whisper, is he a friend of yours?

The guy who asked me what I wanted, went in the back, came out 2 minutes later and said, “I can’t find them.”

The guy that said they didn’t have any went in the back and came out with 1,000 Federal SRPs.

As I left, I had mixed feelings. I had 1,000 primers in my hand, but a bad taste in my mouth.

Another LGS I frequent will tell you to your face, “If you buy your press and equipment from us, we’ll sell you primers to keep it running.” I respect that. I have several friends that want to get into reloading and I told them if they do, go to this LGS, pay a little more and make it clear you expect to get primers when they’re available.

Corruption runs in every corner of society. They got friends that grease their palms, probably selling it on GB.

This happens all the time. I remember confronting this during the great 22LR shortage a few years back. Same scenario. It can be frustrating.

I don’t like at all the secret stash/secret hand shake stuff, but I actually do agree with the “buy from us, we’ll treat to better” business model. Provided it’s advertised, that’s honest free market capitalism. Buy a car here and get lifetime oil changes...same kind of thing.

But, try and keep it secret and you’ll get crosswise with someone claiming it violates public accommodation laws or is reloading injustice. THEN, you’ll get pin headed government bureaucrats of all stripes try to fix it with regulations and legislation and everyone loses.

Must be regional. Us swamp folks here in the Big Bend get everything last. We're too small a market, I suppose. Either that or maybe the gun haters in Gatorville are using social media campaigns to make sure we get nothing or as little as possible. Could be both.

The question is, how much is stock that was left in warehouses when the plandemic hit and warehouse employees were sent home, trucks were stopped, wholesalers stopped taking new orders... all of what happened starting on September 28th of 2017 to grind the global economy to a standstill, which is now finally moving as lock-downs get lifted? If this is just 2019 manufactured stock (to fill orders place for 2018) which is finally getting shipped as warehouses go back to work and trucks start rolling, then it is a drop of mist surrounding the waterfall compared to new and future demand. But, that would explain the sporadic nature of supply getting out, geographically.

I dunno, but the trend is and has been in manufacturing to be Lean, JIT, Taguchi Methods etc...
In other words, "keep no inventory on shelves."

When it comes back, it will be fast.
It seems that normal peoples' stockpiles are about topped off and GB prices are falling. Production is going full tilt. Once all the holes are filled and the only ammo being sold is for day-to-day shooters, it will overflow onto the store shelves and start to fill warehouses again. GB prices will be in free-fall due to scalpers being stuck with excess inventory they need to sell or lose their shirt on it.
