Anyone used any of this stuff? I grabbed a couple 50 Rd boxes because I'm a sucker for .22 ammo I've never tried. $5/50 doesn't leave me expecting match quality but hopefully it's not junk. The shop it came from had several of the Tippmann AR 22's in stock, which I'd heard of. Hadn't heard anything about their ammo though.

Hmmm, very interesting... I was not expecting them to have their own headstamped brass! The ammo looks a lot like Federal/CCI copper plated (read: dusted) 40gr ammo for AR15s...
It kinda surprised me they had their own head stamp, too. I was expecting to read the fine print and find out it was mfg by one of the big names. Hoping to get home before dark one day this week. Otherwise probably won't get a chance to shoot it til this weekend.

They have it in standard velocity too, but I didn't buy any.

Keep us updated for sure. Also, have you seen the Aguila 60gr 22LR? I got 500rds of it a month ago for an ok price with the current market craziness and it is hilarious looking... I have a new CZ457 Pro Varmint in 22LR that I put a Magpul sling and Simmons 3x-10x 44Mag scope on with the Leupold 11mm dovetail mount/rings and it is still waiting for me to sight it in lol.

Hadn't seen it or really heard of it til now. It's definitely goofy looking, but could be a decent subsonic option. Especially if it's the same energy as a HV as they claim.

Supposedly it was originally designed for a government/military covert type project but it never really went anywhere so they sell it to the civilian market. But, I prefer basic $5/50 CCI Standard Velocity 40gr 22LR for general purpose ammo as it is subsonic, and still accurate in many rifles due to the consistency of a high end manufacturer.

The biggest issue with the Aguila SSS (Sniper Sub Sonic) is the standard twist rate of a .22 Lr (1:16”) is a bit slow to stabilize the bullet well. Hopefully it shoots well for you in your new CZ, but if it isn’t very accurate shooting them this is probably the cause.

Stay safe.

Tippmann used to make paint ball equipment. Now they make a really good 22lr AR. I have their 22lr AR pistol. Very reliable 22 AR

Just a hint, your local Walmart may have 22lr ammo for about $.05 a round. You may have to be around when they unload the delivery. I bought a box of 1000 rounds for about $50.00 about 6 month's ago.

I'd wondered if it was the same entity that formerly made paintball gear. Thinking they got bought up, then liquidated in a bankruptcy, but not sure.
I always peek at the ammo shelves anytime I'm in Walmart, but I really don't need any. Just bought this stuff cause I'd never seen it before.

To be fair, it's 35 degrees, gusting wind and I didn't bring anything to aid in trying to shoot accurately including targets. Rest was a cinder block on top of a picnic table with my coat...and I also haven't moved my scope since I got a corrective contact for my dominant eye. 20211114_091254.jpg
5 shots at the cape of Mass were my Federal squirrel ammo. They were the first fired just to "warm the barrel". 5 at the Texas border and 5 at Peugeot Sound were the new Tippman ammo, and the 5 at the Upper Peninsula were Aguila something or another. Too cold/windy/ unprepared for much more than that. All shots at 25 yards.

ETA: I promise there was no hidden meaning in the areas I chose to target.

It's always nice to know there are other options. The Federal usually stacks in better than that, but I'm blaming a cold barrel, cold shooter, and a rifle that hadn't been fired in about 4 years. Dust bunnies may have pushed that first shot to the right o_O

Wow, I'm impressed with the Tippman ammo! It is not that much worse than the Federal ammo and especially considering the conditions! I'll have to keep an eye out for some!

It may very well end up being ok. I'll shoot it on a decent day with a real rest in more rifles next time. I was on my way back from squirrel hunting (for the first time in several years) and kind of stopped to shoot it on a whim. That rifle generally shoots any Federal HV ammo into one hole and my hunting ammo is some old bulk CMP Federal stuff I picked up years ago.

Yeah I had a typo that I fixed and it sounded like I was insulting the Tippman ammo... I thought it did very well actually.

Looks just like a CCI AR Tactical load with a custom handstamp die. 99% certain its a house brand made for Tippman by Vista. The amount of $$$ to started a .22 LR production line is huge.
Yeah that's what I was thinking, I think I actually put that in my post too. That would explain the decent accuracy. I wonder if we could find an MSDS sheet for this ammo and it would say for sure who made it.
