What's the top 5 on your "List"? The RULES: The list isn't "grail gun" "pie in the sky" "win the lottery" items. They are not pie in the sky, but the actual gun related items that I will actually buy in the order shown as my gun fund allows. Ammo and reloading components don't count - that's too obvious. I do review the list and change items and priorities from time to time, but currently, here are my top 5 items, in priority order and reason why:
1. Near MFG Picatinny Base for my Sako 85: Why? I updated my scope and don't ever want to have the issues I had with rings and bases on my Tikka M695 (Millet Angle Locks - I'm looking at you! You don't know what you don't know until you know. The shop that I bought the gun from grabbed them to mount my scope. I'll cut them some slack, they were probably the only ones they had on hand that day compatible with the Tikka and I didn't know better. Lesson learned. Buy once, cry once.) I have a pair of ARC rings ready to go once I get the base.
2. S&W 686 Plus. Bonus if I find a 686-4 Plus (and more foam ear plugs): Why? I don't have a revolver, and if I'm going to get a revolver, I've decided this is the way. And I forgot to add the Kestrel to my list, which bumps a suppressor to No. 6.
3. Tisas 1911 9mm: Why? "Cheap" practice with a 1911 manual of arms.
ETA: 4. Kestrel Anemometer: Why? Better D.O.P.E. for long range shots.
5. Range finder binoculars: Why? Missed opportunity on a nice buck with a monocular rangefinder with a coated small objective in low light and I couldn't clearly pick out the deer at distance because it was getting to be low light (I could see the deer plain as day through my scope and standard binoculars).
6. 30 Caliber Suppressor: Why? I was a tanker. I like shooting. My hearing is really bad (according to my wife).
