I moved from NJ to Rens. County NY earlier this year, and I need some help finding a place to shoot, competition, etc.

I live in Cherry Plain (part of Berlin) near Jiminy Peak. I go over to Albany regularly and my wife works there as well.

Anyone who lives around the area and would be willing to show me their club, etc. would make me very happy.

BTW, I so miss my handguns, they are sleeping in a dealer safe in nj until I can get a NY permit.

Howdy. I live on "the other side of the river" but I belong to a club not far from you. Nassau Sportsmen's Club on Boyce Road in Nassau. We've got skeet, trap, sporting clays, outdoor rifle range (needs a lot of work), indoor pistol range and a fairly nice clubhouse. Nice bunch of fella's there. I get out there around once a month and would be happy to show you around sometime.

In rens. county a permit is pretty easy to get.Judge McGrath is great.
I belong to an IDPA club in Rotterdam(a little drive but worth it.)PM me if interested(after you get your handguns that is)
I also belong to the Watervliet R+G club in Colonie.But Nassau is good to.I just like the combat range at Watervliet.They also have IPSC.
I hear Nassau has good shotgun stuff.
As far as good gun shops:

Country Roads(Nassau:actually in a guys shed,but he's great)

I live next door in MA about 20 minutes from you. You are always welcome to come over to my range, to shoot.
Don't bring guns but there's always something to shoot over here.
We are going to a Machien gun shoot on the 30 and 31 in MA about an hour away. We could car pool, you come over and then we go to the shoot together.
