I have a question and would like to get some input from the collective group on here. I purchased a two-tone Keltec p11 last fall. I have put 50-60 rounds through it. I also performed the KTOG fluff and buff, added a pocket clip and the trigger "shovel" (makes the trigger wider for comfort). I got it for concealed carry but I need money for another project and I just did not fall in love with this one as expected.

What is a fair price for this? It comes with the box and all the original stuff. I also have an in the waistband holster. I just want to sell the whole thing.

I am just south of Houston.

Thanks in advance for all the help!

Yep, about 200. It's a shame, great gun, sad it didn't work out for you.

PM Me if you're willing to let it go for $200. I'll be in Houston on the 5th, and if you're interested, maybe we can strike up a deal.

If it works, I think $250 is about right. I bought one for $250, but it was iffy, even after F&B. I sold it with full disclosure to a friend for $200.

I know he was using it as a truck gun at the time. I guess he figured he'd never have to use it, and if he did, it would work for one or two rounds. :what:

Not the odds I care to lay.

Got a NIB one a while back for $249+tax and a used one more recently for $194 OTD. P-11s do not have good resale value even though my experience has been positive and I like the fact that they can use S&W 59 series mags.

Bud's Gunshop.com is selling the Kel-Tec P-11 brand new for $245 including Shipping so I really don't know how you could sell it used for $250 unless you "tell a story" about that pistol.

IMO you will be lucky to get $200 for that pistol considering the buyer will have to pay a transfer fee too.

With the extra goodies I'd say $240 is a fair price given the condition. I'd be happy with $225 but I think $200 may be a bit low for all that's included. Heck, you may even get $250-260 but it may take a little more time.

If you knew they sell for $250 new what would you pay for a used one?

Personally I paid the extra $50 for a new one.

But like anything it's worth whatever price you can find someone willing to pay.

I'm not sure it you are serious or not but I'll answer you just in case.

The Federal Government in the form of BATF requires a Form 4473 when legally purchase a firearm. That paperwork goes through a Licensed Firearms Dealer and they charge a fee. Around here the usual fee is $25 and the buyer usually pays the transfer fee. They record the results of the NICS check on that form. (National Instant Criminal Background Check System)

I think I have all that information correct but don't jump me if I made a mistake because I'm not a dealer, just a buyer at times.

Feds only require on a new gun from a dealer not private sale.

Around Ky .You have gun I want. We trade money or whatever agreed on for gun and we go on are way. Only use the 4473 for new guns bought at dealer no tranfer fee or any fee. Where I live. Unless its a ship in gun bought from internet. That 20 bucks . to run thru his books. . In fact when I fill out 4473 I hand my CCW lic he records number that background check. In and out in a few min . No rip off fees no waiting days
You must be one of the liberal states that doesn't like guns. Not a free one like Ky.

Prices vary. I'd offer it for at least $260 and you can deal for a lesser price if necessary. You will probably get $250.

Dave :)

MICHAEL T,
Here in PA you can sell long guns without paperwork but handguns require a background check even on private sales. I was under the impression that was Federal and not State. (and I guess I was wrong) So I'm again guessing that makes us only half free! LOL

Dealers here don't charge and fees for new guns bought from them, only for running the paperwork through and doing a background check on private handgun sales.

I was being serious. I've been buying guns from gunshops here in Alaska for 33 years now and have NEVER had to pay a dealer for their handling paperwork. Sounds like the gunshops in your neck of the woods figured how to make a little more off you. All the dealers up here charge to receive guns for you from out of state sales. In that case you're paying them for a service. In Anchorage it runs as low as $10 to a high of $45.

Hey, me! It helps to read ALL the posts, duh!

In Alaska you can have gun sales IN STATE without any paperwork, as long as they're private. I bought a gun from a guy once who was 700+ miles away, delivered to my door without a shred of paperwork, except my check clearing. If you're buying a weapon from Outside, it goes through a dealer.

Except maybe when someone makes a mistake and mails it right to you so you have to take it to your dealer yourself so everything is nice and legal.:what:

I'd give ya 200 for it today after I looked it over. I'd like to have another one, not sure why, but I would. I have carried one for 15 years, got estimate over 11K trouble free rounds through it. I really like the thing. I love the trigger, personally. DAO triggers with a long throw are very safe to carry and require no safeties. I shoot this gun very well. No, it's not a 1911 with a 10 ounce single action trigger or evern a 4 lb Glock, but I will CARRY neither of those, especially in a pocket. I'm a revolver guy and like DA. Some of my other carries are revolvers, but there's just something about a little, flat 11 round DAO pumping out .357 energies (compared to a 125 grain .357 from a 2" tube).

Anyway, I ain't going to be in Houston any time soon. But, if mine ever wears out, I will have it replaced or fixed under warranty (lifetime). As with most here, I think 200 is top dollar for a used one. They don't sell for much more new.
