SC I did my basic in the winter time, no bugs and cold outside...great for PT
I had complained to a buddy about the cold & he said "you just try this stuff in the summer"
AIT was in ft Garbage...I mean Gordon...summer time...I hadn't known they have humid deserts and all kinds of biting things.

you are correct about the MP branch id, I'm just not entirely pleased about the transition so I'm being not 100% accurate on that, also just found out that I'm now going to Iraq instead of Afghanistan, oh well, at least I shouldn't have to worry about altitude sickness or frostbite and the like from mountains, just dehidration, sunstroke/sickness, and all that.
and as far as the lethality bit goes, I was referring to not only the physical skills I have aquired through the infantry but also the mindset that has been instilled into me, which has made me as I see a more capable to be increasingly lethal to my enemies, if that makes sense.

I love hearing military stories... but "Gun" = "Weapon" = "Mechanical Device + Chemistry Experiment" = "Life-Outcome Determination Machine".
I love you warriors, truly I do. I grok that "weapon" is a tiny subset labelled "Intent to deliver harm" of things in the world. Employed in the necessary manner, this includes tooth-brushes and camera flashbulbs.
But, as an artist and a pixel-weenie and - above all - a civillian - "Gun" = "thing that fires bullets under impulse of a propulsive load" which covers anythign from a .177 airgun to a 155mm Howizter.
But you've seen and done things that would turn my hair white, so I'll take my lily-white lack of understanding over here by the bar and offer you a beer.
