We Need to Inform Our Hunting Buddies!

I see your point, and maybe I'm a complete sucker, but I think the guy's serious. Most of this anti-gun stuff is written by people that know nothing about what they're talking about, FOR people who know nothing about what they're reading. And a lot of like-minded politicians are willing to give them what they want. Hysteria trumps fact for these people.

This is serious. Spread the word!

I would like to see this thread a lot hotter, because this is very serious.

Remember the "Beltway Snipers"? That was a local story here, and again and again I heard comments on the local news about the "unbelievable long-range accuracy" of the shootings.

News people couldn't BELIEVE a gun could shoot so far, and so accurately.
There was talk then of banning such sniper rifles. No legitimate purpose.

The LONGEST shot made was 75 yards. Most were within 50.

These people have no clue about their own ignorance and irrationality. Bless their progressive little hearts, many among the rank and file really THINK they sincerely don't intend to ban hunting guns. (Just the one's that are too accurate, or not accurate enough, or too powerful, or not powerful enough, or too scary, or shoot too fast, or are too heavy, or too loud, or not loud enough, or that pollute the environment, or cause cancer, or contribute to global warming, or "send the wrong message", or aren't really necessary, or that "have no place in a progressive society"...) But not legitimate sporting guns.

Well, we here at THR know that, don't we? Don't we?

My most recent purchase was a muzzle-loader: Lyman Great Plains (.50 GASP! Sniper Rifle!)

I've been planning to get an M1 Garand next.

But I think I'll get an AR15 first.

So I'm upset that my father lied to me when he handed me the family model 94 (four generations and counting) and told me to kill some deer with it. Clearly "deer" is some sort of codeword for "school age children." I never knew, thanks for clarifying that brady campaign. :banghead:

The part about the .22s is pretty funny though.

.22 are indeed deadly in shots to the body....They have the ability to penetrate through gaps in law enforcement officer's kevlar
no s***, of course they can penetrate in a spot where there's no armor, so can a red ryder

.22s are also the most easy of all the rounds to use with a silencer. They are a favorite of assassins performing mob kills, using a semi-automatic .22 or a revolver chambered in that caliber along with a silencer.

damn you mafia...i mean....damn you hollywood inspired version of the mafia

:cuss:

damn you mafia...i mean....damn you hollywood inspired version of the mafia

"Richie loved to use 22s because the bullets are small and they don't come out the other end like a 45, see, a 45 will blow a barn door out the back of your head and there's a lot of dry cleaning involved, but a 22 will just rattle around like Pac-Man until you're dead." - Vinnie Antonelli (Steve Martin) My Blue Heaven

OK, I absolutely cannot believe that this is real anymore. Now they have a blog post up saying we need to ban .22s and shotguns. It's like they are actively trying to alienate hunters and destroy the meme of "we don't want to hurt sportsmen." This has to be a joke, or someone has hacked the brady page.

will you stop questioning if its real when the bill gets passed? these people are out they and they are speaking louder than you. letting lies like this get passed to the public is unacceptable and people need to counter this.

wow, a whole 100 yards, so since i can do that with open sights and a 44 lever action does that make me a super sniper?:p

Do they require a lobotomy before you can become a writer for the brady bunch?

a whole 100 yards, so since i can do that with open sights and a 44 lever action does that make me a super sniper?

To them, yes it does.

The "Beltway Snipers" made 50 yard shots that had local newspeople wondering aloud why ANYONE would need a rifle capable of such accuracy.

The Brady blog is deliberately describing a 30-30 Lever Action as a "toggle-action" sniper rifle.

You better believe they are for real.

They have LONG been on record as planning to outlaw pump-action shotguns.

There is no point in picking apart their propaganda with logic or facts. That's just how they WANT us to get bogged down. They know what they're doing. It is the Big Lie.

Once again, YES, your open-sighted .44 lever action DOES make you a super sniper.

Most of these rifles carry multiple rounds, with either an automatic mechanism, or a quick toggle action to rapidly move another bullet into the breech, ready to fire into another victim

with that one quote they have tagged every rifle made.

full auto --- well its auto:)
Blot Action --Quick toggle action
Pump Action -- Quick toggle
Lever Action -- Quick Toggle

Etc, Etc

They have stated that every Rifle made is a "Sniper rifle"

.

The main lesson I've learned from these morons and from this thread is:
Buy another gun soon.

with that one quote they have tagged every rifle made.

full auto --- well its auto
Blot Action --Quick toggle action
Pump Action -- Quick toggle
Lever Action -- Quick Toggle

Etc, Etc
and once they get all the "quick toggle" guns outlawed, they'll start working on the "quick opening" single shots and double rifles/shotguns.

"with just a flip of a switch, the gun can be almost instantly reloaded to find its next victim" :scrutiny: :banghead:

Why would he be working for the Bradys, then, spreading on the BS so thick you need hip waders to make it through?

Makes me think that all of my training to get the First shot into the Vital zone is necessary since the Brady Blog site wants to outlaw any firearm capable of more than one shot or distances greater than 100 meters.
Wait a minute the blog was talking about the standard 30-30 round......the .22 LR.........12 gauge shotguns?
They want to ban firearms that shoot 30-30, 22LR and 12 ga?
Well the obvious conclusion is they want to ban ANY FIREARM.
But all those Representative that support the AWB say my hunting firearms are not included in the Brady Camaign?

"You are coming to a sad realization Allow / Do Not Allow"

Enemies, domestic

Don’t the members of the House and Senate, Federal judges, the President and Vice President all have to swear an oath of office to defend and protect the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic?

Sarah and the Sob Sisters are absolutely engaged in attacking the Constitution of the United States which includes the Second Amendment. Why aren’t the people in our government doing their jobs? Do away with that, and what’s next, the First, or maybe the Sixteenth?

I do not know if the American Citizens who support the Brady crap are just stupid, or shortsighted, or if perhaps their leaders actively supporting international terrorism. Obviously, they know nothing of history! When one freedom is taken away, others ALWAYS follow.

The 'big lie' technique worked well for Hitler, Stalin, and Mao Ze Dung, so why shouldn't it work for the Brady Bunch.
:cuss:

Why would he be working for the Bradys, then, spreading on the BS so thick you need hip waders to make it through?
To turn hunters against the Bradys. He hacked the Brady site or whatever, posts some blogs attacking "sniper rifles" and "assault shotguns" then he can turn to the "fudds" and say that the Bradys are attacking hunting guns. These kinds of blogs are things I can expect the Bradys to say, but right now they are focused on black rifles, and saying "we don't want to do anything that effects hunters" which is why I was suspicious as soon as I saw the first post.

so to repeat myself,
THIS IS NOT ACTUALLY THE BRADYS. SOMEONE HACKED THE SITE TO CONVINCE HUNTERS TO FIGHT FOR THEIR RIGHTS

Maybe I'm way off here, but I don't think he hacked anything, except the Brady name and logo. I think he just put up a myspace page and tried to make it look like the real thing.

Brady did start a Myspace group; but then allowed the registration to expire. Apparently, someone noticed this and grabbed the Myspace page for their own uses. This is not an actual Brady Campaign page (though they do still link to it ).

Now, that makes sense. Onion-Brady was just too good to be true.

The fact that one might still infer ownership by the real Brady site is still a giggle, though.
