Okay, everyone talking about pocket carry with their J frames. Well, I, in the past, have always worn Wrangler or Rustlers for the price at work. I mean, I am a mechanic, do dirty work, need to wear jeans. These jeans don't have big enough pockets either front or rear for either my Kel Tec or my Taurus M85UL. The best I could do was a small Grendel P12 in a rear pocket holster. It concealed well, had 12 rounds, is 100 percent reliable, and fairly combat accurate. I would prefer a .38 or better, but it's a gun I have confidence in and shoot well. I need to carry in a pocket to be discreet at work because IWB might flash if a customer comes along and I'm under a tractor or something rolling around.

Well, my jeans are getting worn, so today I bopped down to Wallyworld to check out the jeans. They had Wrangler cargo pocket jeans! I LOVE cargo pockets! Now, I'd rather carry in a front or rear pocket, but cargo pockets give my a place for my wallet, for one, so I don't have to sit on it and if I'm going to be driving a lot, a cargo pocket is a good place to carry. Big bonus, though, is on these, the front and rear pockets are big enough I can put my Taurus or P11 in 'em! I have a pocket holster for 'em and have been carrying the revolver all day in a front pocket. COOL! These are no more expensive than the regular Wranglers I have preferred in the past. Hope they stay around. You know how fashion is, here today, gone tomorrow.

Now the only time I'll have to carry the .380 is on bike trips where I might need to remove it and store it locked under a seat or in a saddle bag. I have a wallet holster built for it, just looks like a wallet, but a flap at the top covers the gun inside. I can removed it and stash it and no one knows it ain't a wallet. Other than that, at work, whatever, I'll carry a better caliber in a pocket from now on. :D Another cool thing about these jeans is in the top of each cargo pocket is a small pocket you can stick a cell phone into. I can put the phone in one side and the other one swallows my NAA mini revolver/holster grip. :D

Dang. I haven't seen the Wrangler cargo pocket jeans. This is the week I change from wool pants to jeans. I like cargo pockets, so I bought 4 pairs of GI cargo pants and spent most of today tailoring them a little. Wish you had posted last week. :banghead: :D

Arizona Jeans are a brand I like since my clenched hands are a little bigger than a k-frame. I need big pockets in my jeans so that's my acid test for any brand. So far, Arizona and a couple of other brands work well for me. But, I have more Arizona than anything.
Cargo pants are ok, but if you need to wear jeans sometime instead of cargos, it's good to have a pair of Jeans that'll swallow a pair of J's easily.

I wear mil surplus BDU pants. Me and jeans don't get along. Too inflexible and not enough pocket space.

I have khaki ones, black ones, and dark blue ones I can wear around the office and nobody complains. I save the marpat ones for the weekends. Heh.

If you want front pocket carry jeans that will work nicely for a J frame try the carpenter jeans from sportsmans guide.

They are cheap - around $12 , $13. They are not consistent. I bought two pair, got 2 very different shades of blue and one pair was not cut exactly right, but for $12 who cares. I wear them for working around the house and the front pockets are the best.

Yeah, Levis and Wrangler both make carpenter's jeans. I bought a pair of the Levis, roomy pockets. I like the cargo jeans better, but I will say the carpenter's jeans had slightly deeper front pockets. The front pockets on the Wrangler cargos are big enough for a J frame, though, just so, nothing extra like the carpenter's jeans. I really like the cell phone pocket in those cargo jeans, too. You can never have too many pockets....LOL!

If you guys are buying Levis you might want to take a look and see where they stand on the gun control issue. For myself, I would rather not buy from people using their profits to support groups that are trying to disarm me.

Any pocket will do. Just add a couple inches of extra material to the bottom. It's easy to do - open up the bottom seam, stitch on the extra material to each side, close the side and bottom seams, and hey presto! You could make the pocket big enough for a long-slide 1911 if you wanted to (or convince someone you were very, VERY glad to see them! :D ).

Didn't know that. Thanks for that info.

Regards to doing my own tailoring, I don't really want to the gun to fall out. ROFLMAO! I did buy the wife a sewing machine 20 years ago. I don't think she ever figured out how to use it, though. I used it some, but it's stuffed away. One of these days, I'm going to try some stuff regards to guns and clothing. :D

Thats why I don't buy Levi's or Dockers - they contribute to "gun grabber: causes.

I like Dockers too...but they don't get my cash.
