Who is still shooting at 200+ rounds? Garand owners or FAL and M1A owners?

At the time it was devised, yes it did deserve it. You cant say that about many firearms. The Garand was ahead of its time at its conception. It was the greatest battle implement ever devised at the time it was introduced to the battlefield. No, honestly, it was not over rated.

Like High Planes Drifter said at the time it was great. And its not like the garand had a low magazine capacity, or a very powerful cartridge for its time either. And the gun can't be to bad if it was still being used a little in vietnam right?
 
Yea you said it don't dare talk about the 870,or even the glock,Mabey the desert Eagle way over priced.Might as well get a 357, and load your own ammo,mabey 190 grain.(sMILE) SCREAMING/// Many may dislike the Glock,but
you have got to admit it's been tested in battle.
 
cz, its not so much that the gun isn't good, it is just that it doesn't live up to the reputation. Glocks have an unbelievable reputation and performance may be pretty good, but not as good as people say, thats probably what most people are thinking.

i cant think of any large scale engagements that the glock has been "battle Tested" in. the glock 17 only came out in 1980, and the only force that uses them that is active in military actions alot i can think of is isreal.

the afganis and iraqis are just now getting them, compliments of us. and they have faired extremely well in combat. but nothign i would consider "battle tested"

again, glocks are reliable, but they are hardly this untouchable proven standard.
 
Now when i say battle tested i mean law enforcement,Some may argue difference but look at this weapon closely it's very easy to operate, easy to clean almost anyone can repair the glock.Yea there are other good weapons
but the fact for me is the glock,ive found this out on my own.But i still say the h&k is over rated along with the desert eagle.But there is no need to get mad, it's a personal thing??
 
I say high point because too many folks think they are great economical guns that work!
 
AK-47 is over rated.

They're minute of man accurate and very durable. But I've seen them fail on several occasions. These were all in Africa and no maintenance was done by the users because they'd bought into the line about them being indestructable.

Most weapons are good for an intended purpose and within a performance envelope. When generalizations are made about superiority across the board, an item becomes over rated and is doomed to fail in the hands of someone who takes such outlandish claims at face value.
