What gun/load for bears?

500 Nitro Express will do in a pinch, however.
If you INSIST on taking a mouse gun bear hunting, I suppose you could use 45-70 Government.

Anybody remember the thread about what what gun for bear, if you are trapped in an elevator between a mother and a cub? That was my favorite. Somebody said that they would want a pair of Mac 10s and they would cut a hole around the bear and let it fall through. Man that was a classic.
