What handguns can you just not get into?

CZ=ugly, S&W Autos=FUGLY, Sigs=FUGLY, Ruger Autos=FUGLY Cheapness, Lorcin=FUGLY Cheapness, High Standards=FUGLY Cheapness, Over $1000 customs=too much for too little substance.

Any 1911

I just can't get into any 1911 whatsoever. I hate grip safties. I hate their looks, feel, and the concept in general. I would love a 1911 with no grip safty though. Or an XD with no grip safty.

I never liked the 1911 pistols, even though I used one in the Army. They are heavy, complicated to field strip, expensive, and may need a gunsmith to feed JHP. Give me a Glock or Sig anyday. I can't warm up to H&K USP pistols. Blocky,Blocky, and did I mention Blocky?

M1911
Because this is the "worlds best ever combat pistol" according to (ONLY) Americans

But not for me.
I love those guns which actually work.

-S&W Automatics (too boxy, too much stainless)
-Berretas(weird asthetics to me)
-Ruger Automatics except P90 (clunky)

and all three have bad safeties. I hate slide mounted safties, especially if the safety de-cocks the hammer when it's engaged. seems redundant to use a safety when there's already a DA trigger to pull through (unless there's a child safety issue)

Really don't like Glocks
Really don't like Taurus Semis
Don't like Ruger Semis
Don't like newer S&W Semis (but I really like my Dad's model 39)
Don't like Hi-Points
Don't really care for Ruger Mark II (but I really like my 22/45)

Those are the ones I can think of right now

WOW, I'm amazed at the number of Glock replies. Personally, I can take 'em or leave 'em. Have a couple, but don't love or hate them.

H & K USP - overpriced and blocky, the absolute worst trigger of anything I've ever shot.

Taurus - I wouldn't own one if you gave it to me.

Paraordnance - (see Taurus)

Ruger semiautomatics

El Cheapos of any make or model.

My tastes have mostly changed to either Colt 1911's or Sigs.
Of course I could probably be persuaded to buy an Ed Brown or Rock River.

Some day.

WALTHER P-99 SUCKS, RUGER, I don't have the time to break them in. Any handgun that cost over $ 800.00 I just don't care for, so i'll stick with my XD-40 it's been one hell of a handgun for under $ 500.00. I did own a Glock G-30 45acp, but i had to give it up, but that's a killer 45.

Any kind of semi-auto. If the middle aint round and turn in circles I'm not going to shoot it. Personally I really need the gun to be a older
S&W .38 SPL or .357 MAG for me to shoot or buy it.

Could never really get used to my Glock...

But the hicap magazines were a good return on my investment when I sold it.

Colt revolvers never had much to catch my eye, and they felt odd after a lifetime of S&W revolvers.

But S&W autoloaders won't do it for me either, save for my Model 52, and the Model 41 I'll have someday. Sigma, anybody? (see Glock, above)

I speak German and listened to Kraftwerk for a while, but you may not touch my monkey, and I'd rather not handle or shoot another squeezecocker HK again.

Ruger P-series autoloaders. Well, if it was all one could afford, I'd understand...

Beretta autoloaders. Especially the M9 I'm issued. PU!

Having said all that, I'm rather fond of my Kahr K9.

And although my wife and I are fairly confident in my masculinity, my "prosthetic" Desert Eagle is a lot of fun knocking steel silhouettes over at 200 yards. Folks really should try one sometime. :neener:

I've never been able to develope an interest in Hi Powers. And I dislike both Ruger and S&W semis (I think this attitude developed originaly because of political problems I have with both companies).

I didn't used to have any interest in wheelguns ... but lately I've been changing my mind.

I guess I've also never had an interest in Jennings/Bryco, Hipoint and other "junk" guns (but I don't know many gun nuts that like them).

Single action revolvers. I have yet to get interested enough to buy one. I've shot them many times. There are some fine SA revolvers out there. I don't have anything against them.

HK P7M8. It is a fine pistol but, so far, the squeeze cocker and I just don't get along the way we should.

Interesting...

the number of replies that say "I hate ______", but I've never shot one

I look at many of my handguns as tools. Example....I've got a Contender in .357 Herrett. Ended up getting it free, and free is good. I went to a metallic silhouette shoot and that's what the best shooters were using. Not much for CCW though. In Indiana, a rifle caliber can be used in a handgun but not a rifle for deer.

I don't particularly like Glocks, but my house gun is a G20 with an M6 light. The gun doesn't have to be wiped down every time it's handled. Hard to beat a 10mm.

When we shoot at family get-togethers, I take the wheel guns so we don't have to chase brass

At the indoor range, nothing beats the Delta Elite or Springfield Loaded .45

Ones to dislike....anything in 9mm. DA/SA or DA only autos (other than the Para).

The Kahrs that I've shot all had horrible triggers. Mebbe some are better.

Anything in .357. Brutal blast. I can load my 45 Colt to have less blast and recoil and more power.

Ruger centerfire autos. Don't fit my hand and pitiful resale.

Personal reflections only. YMMV.
