I shamelessly admit to speculating, this election cycle
I don't really have much interest in AR's, but last month, I bought 2 of them. I also bought 50, 30-round magazines and 5000 rounds of .223 ammo; I told my wife last night that if Hellary wins, I'll be at the gunstore tomorrow when they open, and I am buying another AR.
On the way home from School yesterday, my 15 year old daughter asked me if I had been watching the polls. I answered her honestly; I said "No, sweetheart, because I will either be too happy and excited to sleep, or else I will be too sick to my stomach to sleep." So, I purposefully avoided as much as I could. My best friend texted me that Trump had won Indiana; another texted me that he had won Oklahoma, but lost New York. After that I refused to look at my phone.
I am proudly Catholic, and in addition to my daily prayers, I have been praying the Rosary for 2 weeks or so, exclusively, asking our Holy Mother to pray to her Son, our Lord, that Donald Trump and not Hillary Clinton would win the Presidency.
I was on the way to our kitchen to get coffee for my wife & me; she pulled up the news on her iPad & hollered: "HE WON!" I stopped in my tracks and said "Trump won?" she said yes, and I all but dropped to my knees, and sobbed "THANK YOU, GOD." (as I type this, I am choking up).
I dropped my daughter off at School, and headed to our Parish for daily Mass, where I had to fight back tears and I just kept thanking God that Donald Trump would be our next President.
Well, the mags arrived Monday, and the ammo arrived today, so after doing what I needed to do at work, I took off, grabbed a bite of lunch, went home & unloaded the majority of the ammo. Then, I loaded up 2 10mm's and a .45, and I headed to Impact Guns here in Boise to CELEBRATE!!!!!
As I was unloading, an older gentleman and a couple were just leaving the range. I asked them "Isn't the sky a deeper blue, and isn't the air just a little bit fresher today?" They all laughed and said it sure is.
Our struggles are NOT anywhere near to being over, but I do truly believe that God has heard and answered the prayers of so many, asking Him to please, help us save our nation.
My best friend texted me this morning that it looked like I'd be stuck with the AR's, the mags, & beaucoup ammo...
Y'know what? I'm okay with that.
